Sizing way wrong
I sent the boots back, because they are way oversized. I normal wear a size 14 shoe or boot. These boots felt like a size 16. So much room in them that it was ridiculous.

LL Beam Trail Hiker
great shoe for hiking, however if I lace the Trail model X tightly or snug I get right anterior instep tendonitis. I have resorted to light to moderate lacing to avoid the tendonitis

Seems comfortable
Trying the boots on they seem to be comfortable. The true test will come in the winter when I wear them for extended periods in the wet conditions that I bought them for.

Good ankle support
I chose LL Bean hiking boots over the hiking shoes because I need the ankle support. They do come up higher on my ankles than I expected but I am very well pleased with my purchase. I’ve been on two half-day woods trails hikes since getting the boots and they have performed well. A little moleskin protects from rubbing on my upper ankles.

Sturdy with strong lace cords
Comfortable shoes to use for walking or everyday. I put arch supports in them, and there’s plenty of room for them.

Did Not Fit
I ordered the same size as all 4 of my other LL Bean lightweight hikers and these fit much wider and too long. Returned them for a refund. Not good for medium width feet- wide feet might do bettter.
