Imperfect fit pants
I had these pants several years ago and loved them. But unfortunately the cut appears to have changed, as well as the fabric. I ordered a L according to the size guide but they are bulky and just unwearable. Am returning.

Tapered leg vs straight leg perfect fit pants
With some trial and error, I discovered that the way the waistband is constructed between the perfect fit tapered leg and the perfect fit straight leg is very significant. The tapered leg has a very uncomfortable gathered waistband and the straight leg has a very comfortable flat waistband. The flat waistband is similar to what used to be the perfect fit bootleg which apparently for some unknown reason has been discontinued. I hope this has been helpful

Best pants ever for me !
Over 20 yrs have worn only these slacks as they look great, feel wonderful and wear and wash and dry beautifully. I always feel well dressed for casual and daily wear. Since closing in on 80 yrs old I have to say thank you Llbean for making my life easier and well dressed.
