Since 1936, we've been making our iconic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

The current style and cut is a downgrade
I've worn these shirts for years. Unfortunately, the styling has been changed, and not in a good way. Button down collar? Why? More annoyingly, the arm opening have been reduced in size, presumably to present a more fitted profile. Again, why? These are shirts made for comfort and activity, not for 'fashion.' Please restore the former styling!

Great pattern. Fabric seems inclined to pill.
Washing cold and drying low, the first cycle resulted in some fabric surface changes that look like the beginnings of pilling. We'll see what happens over time. I love the pattern. The weight/thickness of the flannel is great. I'd call it medium or medium/light. Fit is generous for a medium size, but as with all flannels, I'm assuming there will be some shrinkage. I might shrink it on purpose since it's a bit roomy on me as it is. Best thing about these shirts is the patterns and colors. There are so many ugly plaids out there right now! This one is gorgeous. Also appreciate: No flap over the pocket. On flannels, those just curl and look shabby--along with getting in the way when you want to pocket something. Note on the potential pilling: I bought two of these and the other doesn't seem to be looking that way, so maybe it's a fluke from something I washed along with? Time will tell.
