Since 1936, we've been making our iconic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Not like my other LLBean flannels
I have three old beloved LLBean flannels. I liked the colors so I ordered this one. Within 2 washes the fabric is pilling, and the fabric has deteriorated so much that the lines of the plaid are blurred. It looks so bad I don't want to wear it out. Will return. I've had my other flannels for years and had no such problems. All the lines are still crisp and clear.
