Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Squall Jacket This is the best Squall Jacket I have ever had. I had been given one years ago from my uncle that I outgrew as I “matured”. Since then I have bought several different brands, but none were as suitable for keeping me warm, nor keeping the wind out successfully. So I have come back to LL Bean and once again I stay warm and the wind does not penetrate through. So glad I got this jacket. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My men loved these jackets After the positive reaction of my middle son when he tried on his jacket, I quickly ordered another for my other son. They are very soft to the touch, fit perfectly and are just the right warmth for dashing out into the cold weather here in Maine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried and True I love this versatile jacket. I bought this one as a replacement of one I have had for at least 10 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought again! Second one of these. I used the first for years until the zipper gave out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good jacket Warm and comfortable jacket, but they should upgrade the zipper with a metal one. I have had two coats with failed plastic zippers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Low quality zipper I am disappointed that the jacket has not been improved. There are two major issues. The continued use of a light duty plastic zipper will leave this jacket unuseable after a few years. I thought the zipper failure on my first jacket would be corrected after years of testing by the public. The jacket is very noisy in cold weather; it sounds like it contains stiff plastic material, very annoying.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A fine component in the L.L. Bean lineup Excellent product. Keeps me warm when it's cold out, doesn't become a heat bag if hte temperare rises a little. Why not a five? 1) Sizing. The XL's a *little* big on me, but the L was too tight. I know, the only way to account for that is to take measurements and produce fitted jackets. 2) It's a little "crinkly." It can bunch up toward my chin when I get in the car. I'm waiting for it to soften and get more supple. But, most importantly, would I recommend it to someone else? Most definitely. And I'll strongly consider buying another one in the future when this one wears out. (I won't say "definitely" because when this wears out, I don't know whether it will have been replaced n the Bean line with somthing that has some future technological breakthrough incorporated in it).
