Water bottle pockets too shallow
My son needed a larger backpack for high school. Bought this one and didn’t even think to test the water bottle pockets out ahead of time. First day, he complained about how his bottle won’t stay in. We tried several: all fall out. The pocket needs to be deeper, which should be an easy fix for LL Bean.
You’re advertising the large bag for high schoolers… they use adult size water bottles. I’m debating sending the bag bag for this reason. Which sucks because it was large enough to hold textbooks, laptop, notebooks plus room for additional stuff. I mean I guess I can look for a kid size water bottles. :/

Overall, great backpack for middle school
The overall backpack is great - tons of storage, lots of different pockets and storage options. However, the mesh water bottle pockets on the outside are horrible! We have multiple water bottles and nothing stays in the pocket - so the pockets are useless. They should be twice the height

Beware of water bottle pockets
Had a prior version of this bag with no issues and loved it! The one i bought in the last month is a major letdown as the mesh side pockets don't hold a stand 24oz water bottle. the rest of the bag is great but non functional water bottle holders dimish the value.
