Highly recommended modern classic
Great oldschool rucksack with modern touches like a sidezip padded laptop pocket that disappears into the overall design. Very spacious main compartment with plenty of additional pockets for organization. This bag is lightweight but has the tactile feel and style of waxed canvas with the convenience of buckles that easily snap to close pockets and secure items. It also has very comfortable straps and a waistband to distribute weight for long hikes. It is well built and will obviously last many years with regular use as with their older models which I have used and abused without any issues for decades. I still have a bag of theirs that is over 50 years old that is still in use. We've stuffed these rucksacks with everything from film equipment to upwards of a hundred pounds of tools and hardware for outdoor expeditions, urbex trips, and design build projects. This bag has a great vintage look that harkens to the old designs in both quality and appearance. An excellent update to a classic design that blends classic aesthetic with intelligent functionality. Highly recommended for anyone that values both attributes. Makes for a great urban commuter bag and work bag that also doubles as an outdoor adventure backpack. I rarely buy anything new over vintage and this bag is a refreshing discovery that blends the best of both.

After using this pack fully loaded at 24lbs that with a 5lb wool blanket strapped to the bottom, I can say that it is not very comfortable, its torso is short so that the waist belt is virtually useless, and I'm only 5'7" .. all the weight is on the shoulders, my neck and shoulders were killing me, and I know how to load and strap a pack, if I could do it all over again I'd get the larger Weekender pack for the waist belt as I hear that pack rides better and more comfortable, but don't hold me to that, looks like my search continues for a pack for the same style but more comfortable...I really wanted to love this pack.

Brought tears to my eyes!
I’ve been a LLBean fan since I began college I am 32 now, and I remembered years ago looking at the continentual rucksack with leather accents when I saw they just their waxed canvas rucksack I had to buy it. Upon arrival I opened it up and it’s soft yet so sturdy it has such a patina charm and feels soo earthy I made me cry because it makes me so excited for this bag to be my companion during my long walks and work! if you are a rucksack fan especially if you’ve been waiting around for a more LLBean heritage style continental rucksack look no further! Thank you LL Bean I am hoping for decades and wonderful patina it of this bag! Just holding it reminded me why I love this company so much and how it fuels our love for nature it also has a very bushcraft vibe this bag! Thank you ❤️
