We've improved our most popular medium duffle, loved since 1996 for its travel-tough durability, fun colors and great price. Now made of 100% recycled fabrics, with a new U-shaped zipper that opens wider for easier access. Meets most airline carry-on requirements.
Introducing our best-ever Adventure Duffle, redesigned using customer feedback, product reviews and tests from our own in-house lab. We chose a rugged fabric that's 100% recycled--and just as strong as before. Next, we packed it with improvements, including a wider opening, more comfortable shoulder strap and a new storage pouch you can use as a packing cube while traveling. Available in sizes and colors for every member of the family!
- 100% recycled 600-denier polyester on body, with 100% recycled 1000-denier polyester on base that's twice as abrasion resistant for added durability.
- PFC/PFAS-free durable water repellent (DWR).
- Fabrics are made from recycled plastic bottles; this 35L bag uses 17 plastic bottles.
- Waterproof fabrics. Zippers and seams not waterproof.
- Coated interior for added weather protection; tested for 24 hours in our deep freeze with no signs of cracking, flaking or peeling.
- Spot clean.

I ordered this item because I had another one, in the same color, for years and it was great. But this one is not made as well and I am disappointed the that design and materials are not as good. As example, the strap only has an adjustable strap on one side, as opposed to both sides of the strap and if you want to have the pad in the middle of the strap, it is overly long and if you need it to be shorter, the pad can't be centered.
I buy LL Bean products for their quality, but you haven't lived up to my expectations this time.

New design is not necessarily a better design
Just finished my first trip with the duffel. I have been using the original version for over 30 years and decided to get a new one. The elimination of the cinch buckles is a huge mistake. When I try to carry the duffel loaded by the handle it pulls the two handles apart. Also the sizes are different than the older style. . I bought the medium size first and it was much smaller than my old one and the large is bigger. On larger planes the large fits in the overhead but not on smaller planes forcing to check the bag and paying the fee. My wife bought a new duffel a year ago before the “redesign “ I wish I would have bought a new one then. Still a quality product but they removed the critical design elements. Not the first time LLBean has done this with a highly successful item Ex: Anoraks

well made duffle
I actually returned this item, but ordered the next size up. Even though I did pay attention to the measurements, the duffle was smaller than I expected. I think it's the angles at the top. The large was bigger than I needed, but kept it anyway. I needed a size in between the two. It's very well made, but would be even better with pockets on the ends.

Great gym bag
I got one of these over 30 years ago to take for my daily swim. Needed another because the interior lining was cracking - but it took 30 years for that to happen. I really like the new opening. And yes the medium is a little smaller than my old one but for my needs the other was a little too big so I am very pleased. I am 65 so if this last another 30+ years this may be the last one I need to buy!

Great bag but smaller than the old ones…
I love this bag. I have 3 of the old ones. I am disappointed that I can fit this medium size in my old small size. The older medium size was double the size of this. I would recommend these bags but understand that the medium is more like a small.
