Introduced in 1944 as "Bean's Ice Carrier," the beloved Boat and Tote is still crafted in Maine, one tote at a time. This special crossbody edition celebrates its classic style, legendary durability and the adventures to come.
We created this Boat and Tote crossbody bag in celebration of our iconic tote--a new twist on an old favorite. Made in Maine using the same heavyweight canvas as the original, with the same extra-durable construction details and a handy removable shoulder strap. Make it your own by adding a custom monogram; we can embroider a name, initials or a favorite phrase in a wide selection of colors.

You'll get hooked!
I love my tote, I have one of every size, some zipped some open. They hold a lot of contents and weight, I actually used them when moving, stuffing them full! I noticed a dried in coffee stain on one of them and took some all purpose cleaning spray from Mrs. Myers and scrubbed the whole bag, it came out like brand new! These bags will last a lifetime and longer, I have some of my mom's old totes! You won't regret your purchase.

The strap is not worth the cost
The long strap is convenient on the small, but not worth the additional cost, almost double the cost of a regular small. Also, the boat and tote is a very stiff bag to wear crossbody, the mini would probably be the easiest to wear this way.
