only LLBean product that has disappointed
I bought these shorts only because my favorite mostly cotton cargo shorts were sold out. I'll keep them only because I needed a new pair of shorts in a dark color. The only positive thing I can say is that they have lots of pockets. Otherwise, the fabric can only be described as shiny look and slithery feel. The hi rise cut plus wide waistband hits at my ribs. The nylon zipper & snap closure will never last as long as a metal zipper plus button. Finally, why a drawstring in a fitted waistband? For others annoyed by those strings hanging down, carefully pick out the stitching on the LL Bean label at the back of the waistband. Pull out the drawstring and throw it away.
As soon as my favorite cargo shorts are available again, I'll stock up on those and toss these into a giveaway bag.

Great fabric/comfort fit
I'm usually a solid size 4R in LLBean pant/shorts (I'm 5', 112# with that post menopausal waist). The 4R in these fit but was tighter than I like my hiking shorts to be, so I returned and ordered a 6 which was perfect - gave me more room to tuck in a shirt and move more freely while still looking great! I love the lightweight, soft fabric and the style.

Wonderful shorts!
These shorts fit well and wash beautifully! They are very comfortable and flattering to an "older" figure! I miss an open (non-zipper) back pocket but I can easily stow my phone in the cargo pocket and j-u-s-t button it. I now have these shorts in brown, beige, and black. I'm hoping they will serve me well for years to come!
