Waxed Down Sweater
Love this “waxed down sweater”. Love the way it feels on me and the fit - an added bonus for me are all the pockets! I will agree with another reviewer who mentioned that it does seem to collect lent easily but that can be taken care of easily enough. I definitely recommend this “sweater” (not sure why it’s called that, lol).

I Loved The Coat So Much I Bought the Jacket!
I love, love, love the quilted waxed down coat I bought in the Fall! It got me through the 7 degree with minus 0 wind chill insane cold this winter. It looked and felt good, even though It WASNT A PETITE! 🫤 When I saw that Bean had brought out a corresponding “sweater” jacket, I sprung for it and am quite pleased. First of all, this is a shorter, lighter, but still down filled, version of the coat. It is still wax coated tightly woven cotton and quilted but it has bigger and better placed pockets and no hood. Unlike the coat, it is not trimmed in corduroy piping. Because it is down filled and quilted it is wind and water resistant and quite warm. It’s not as warm as the thicker, longer coat, but it’s certainly not a sweater! I’ve worn the jacket on a 45 degree, blustery day on a long walk and I was very comfortable. I also have worn the jacket on a sunny 55 degree day and wasn’t overheated. I got the loden color which is very nicely traditional for waxed cotton fabric. Some reviews mention that the waxed fabric attracts lint, but I have two cats and live in a dusty city and haven’t had any problem, though I hang the jacket up in my coat closet and don’t let it sit around when I’m not wearing it. As for sizing, this runs narrow. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IN PETITE, though! I’m 5’3”, pear shaped, 34D, 135lbs and the medium in both the coat and jacket fit pretty well, though it would have been so much better in a PETITE! I’ve turned up the cuffs about an inch or so and it looks ok. The length is mid hip on me, longer in the back. The two way zipper is sturdy metal. I wish the bottom was about 1/2 to 1” wider on me when I sit down, but the two way zipper opens to give more ease when needed. Because the outer fabric is waxed cotton, neither the coat nor the jacket can be washed. Stains must be sponged off. I’m looking forward to wearing both garments for years to come!
