It's been updated with a better fit, new stretch woven fabric that's softer and better ventilation. Best of all, Tropicwear still provides UPF 50+ sun protection, or about 10 times more than a white cotton tee.

Not for Me
For starters, the fabric is too heavy for hot weather. The whole garment is heavy because of nearly 14 inches of mesh lining at the top of the torso. I appreciated that the plaid is a woven-in pattern but expected smaller stitches and no un-clipped, loose threads on a shirt at this price point. Finally, the fabric has a texture, both inside and out, which is rougher that synthetic field shirts I own. For many, this might not matter and might even allow the fabric to stand off of and not stick to sweaty skin. I have really sensitive, fragile skin and don’t think this fabric would be comfortable all day. I didn’t even try it on -- just returned it. The colors? Really dull! I miss the bright, pretty colors of the shirt I bought 5 years ago. And finally, I won’t wear a garment with a brand name prominantly embroidered onto it. Sorry, LLBean, this shirt is a loser.

Not impressed at all, does not come near the quality, I expected from LLBean & have received in the past with tropical clothes line I have purchased over the years. Runs extremely large & is not fitted at all. Would not recommend to a friend.

Itchy and Unflattering
The material is stiff and itchy as other reviewers have noted. The cut was unflattering. I had high hopes for this shirt but it was not fluid and comfortable like other UPF shirts I've purchased and it was returned.
