I bought two of these shirts believing them to be the successor to a shirt that I loved so much that I bought them in every color offered plus one extra. The original shirt had two shortcomings, one of which was fixed in this shirt. The button down collar tips no longer curl up. However, there are several changes that for me detract from this shirt. The sleeves are almost 2 inches longer than the medium regular shirt used to be. The shirt tails are too short to stay tucked in. Clearly it's designed to be worn untucked, but since I wear them year round I do not like that feature. I like to leave the top two buttons unbuttoned, but the 3rd button is down so low that it shows off more of my chest than I like and although they moved the label with the item number on it so that it no longer tickles the back of my neck, it is now placed in a seam near my waist and tickles my side so I still have to cut it out. Next, the fit is too tight. Lastly, the L L Bean label on the front of the shirt is no longer embroidered but is a stick on table which is peeling off. I will not buy this shirt again.

My go-to hiking shirt
LL Bean really nailed it with these shirts - both the fabric and the design. I have several in different colors and wear them for hiking and travel. I've tried a few other brands, but they just do not compare.
