We've made chino tie shorts more comfortable than ever, in soft-washed organic cotton with stretch for ease. A drawstring elastic waist makes them easy to pull on and looks great too.
It's not easy to make a classic even better, but we did. First, we added a touch of stretch to traditional cotton and washed it for exceptional softness and ease. Then, we added a full elastic waistband for comfort worthy of lounging and style ready for warm-weather fun.

TOO SMALL!!
I purchased the pants version and these shorts in size 16, which is one size up from my normal size. I have several pairs of LL Bean pants in size 14 that fit well and offer plenty of room for movement. Even going up one size wasn't enough in these shorts (or the linen ones, which I also ordered and must return). They just barely fit and look snug, which I consider unsightly and inappropriate. Maybe these are supposed to be skin tight through the hips and belly? I cannot imagine who that would look good on. If I bend and move, these pull at the seams, look way too tight, and feel uncomfortable. Strangely, this is NOT the case with the pants. The 16 fits fine in those. Since I am in my 50s and have had babies, my body has changed (I'm not plus size, though) and LL Bean has always been a go-to for comfortable, practical clothing, but the sizing of these shorts is way off.

Nice little pair of shorts. Size up.
I sized up one size and this worked out well, since the rise on the new version of Lake washed is not generous. The color and fabric are good, though.

Great casual shorts
Six inches is the perfect length for my 5’2” frame. Blue goes with all my summer tee shirts. As is typical with this material, it relaxes after wearing but tightens up after laundering. I do iron these shorts but it probably wouldn’t be necessary.

Have worn this style of shorts from many years. Sizing and fit has changed as well as the quality of the material. Please bring back the original style and material for these shorts.
