Fantastic rod!
I'm a long time customer of LL Bean and had been eyeing the Double L 8 1/2 ft 4wt for awhile. I was fortunate to find and purchase one at the outlet store while visiting Freeport with my wife last weekend and I'm so glad that I did. Yesterday I was able to give it a real world test and it performed great. The moderate fast action has the right amount of flex and backbone to make casting accurate and effortless, both close in and at longer distances. It has enough flex to protect light tippets and delicately present small dry flies, but plenty of backbone to handle tossing streamers on heavier tippets and fighting fish. In my humble opinion, this really is a great rod.

LL Fly rods rule
I have been checking your Bangor and Ellsworth outlet stores for a LL fly rod for over 3 years. I finally got one. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but I plan to next week. Shopping at LL Bean has always been a wonderful experience for me whether it’s at the flagship store in Freeport, the outlet stores in Ellsworth and Bangor or online.

The Double L is a good deal for the price
Caught a 10 inch Brook Trout the other day. Could barely feel it at the end of the rod. The rod was flexible yet rigid.
