Stiff and Scratchy Lining
I bought these to replace my last pair of mocs from LL Bean since they were just about worn out. This is either my third or fourth pair. My first disappointment was that they stopped making the blue ones in wide. I wanted a change from my old ones, but I had to settle for the same tan colored ones I've been using. Then, when they arrived, I was surprised that the interior lining or 'fur' wasn't as soft as it was with the last two pairs I've purchased over time. The lining seems to be kind of STIFF.......and even worse, it's a bit 'scratchy'. This was something I noticed immediately. I don't know if it's maybe the dye used to color the fur, or if the lining was processed/treated differently than it used to be or what. Maybe sheep have different textures of hair just like people from one to the next.....it's anyone's guess. All I know is, every time I put them on, within a matter of minutes....they make the top and sides of my feet itch. I really don't want to wear socks in the slippers, but I guess I don't have much of a choice. I generally only do that in winter. I'm hoping they improve with wearing and soften up....but this ITCHING is not cool. I'm considering a return on these. It's depressing! Seriously, LL Bean was my last 'go to' place for high quality, dependable merchandise. The price was always higher, but at least in the past, the quality made it worthwhile. Now it's just a high price with a name. I guess nothing lasts forever.
