Rated 3 out of 5 by from Keeps me dry, but not as durable as I hoped. I've had this rain jacket for about 2 or 3 years now. I am happy to say that it HAS kept me dry! So it does the job I bought it for. However, I somehow managed to get a small tear in the lining of one sleeve, and that tear has set off a major shredding of the lining in that sleeve. I was afraid something like this would happen when I first got it. I feel like the quality/durability of the jacket is not quite what I've come to expect from LL Bean. I have what I believe is called a field jacket that is more than 10 years old--and it is in almost mint condition. I am disappointed that the lining of this rain jacket has not held up. I suspect the mesh-lining of the pockets will be the next to go. I am a little disappointed that the rain jacket uses velcro instead of snaps (like my older field jacket does). Velcro has a tendency to accumulate lint and other debris that makes it unstickable. While the jacket does keep me dry, it also makes me sweat quite a lot on warmer days. There's zero breathability in the fabric. But then, maybe breathability is not an option in a waterproof fabric.
