great for running, walking and swimming...
I searched LLB's site online for swimming trunks. Basically, I was looking for old-fashioned "life guard"-style swim trunks." And, in fact, these could easily be used as swim trunks. But these are really more everyday summer sports shorts appropriate for running, other exercise or sports, or simply walking around in. They have a liner and more pockets than traditional swim trunks do. I really like them, especially for their 8" inseam – not too short; not too long. Too many shorts these days seem to be reverting back to the 1980's short-shorts look. I lived through that era once; don't want to again.
I bought the navy ones, and they are a nice rich, dark blue.

Cruise shorts for a short cruise
I bought two of these sports shorts as swim trunks for a cruise. Love them. Good cut and fit, excellent length, and quick drying, too. The fit was just right.

Flimsy Drawstring
I was disappointed with the drawstring, it needs to be wider and sturdier. Once the drawstring get wet it is very difficult to unknot.
