These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Great alternative to traditional flannel shirt
I'm very happy with this piece -- I'm treating it like a very lightweight jacket or as another light layer over a t-shirt. For Florida winters, it's perfect. The odd thing -- but not bad) is that the sleeves are cuffed with buttons like a shirt, which doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the design. Not a deal breaker. I'm 5'3", 140#, and the medium petite is a good fit with a little space underneath for another shirt, even a thicker one. If I was to use this just by itself, I would have bought a small, but the medium does not swim on me.
