Great jacket still after 7 years!
Bought this jacket 7 years ago for dog walking in Rochester, NY. This is a serious jacket for cold weather and being outdoors. It is EXTREMELY warm which I love for dog walking, but not if you are wearing it to the grocery store. You will overheat. The outside is a tough fabric that has tolerated dogs jumping in me over the years including my German Shepherd when he was going through his velocoraptor phase and biting sleeves without a scratch. I have worn it in blizzards and wind and have stayed warm. The hood is fabulous with the fur trim on keeping windy snow out. Again, this coat is very warm. When walking dogs in really cold/snowy weather, I usually only wear a thermal baselayer shirt, LLBean snowpants, gloves, and a thin hat or thermal headband (hold my hair) as the hood hugs my head and keeps it warm. Also good to wear to the new Buffalo Bill's stadium! Have laundered it many times in washer/dryer after muddy paws and looks good in green still. Cold wash with dryer balls in dryer. Zipper is heavy duty and durable. You need to make sure the bottom is fully in and "clicks" or it won't advance up. It doesn't do a silky effortless slide in like other cheap zippers. I would recommend regular size but it is a little roomy.

Zipper is a huge issue
I love the warmth of the coat and the fact that it’s windproof but I have a very difficult time with the zipper. It takes a minimum of 3 tries usually more to get the coat to zip. Apparently, it’s a known fact because many others have the same complaint. For the price of this coat there should not be zipper issues.

Super Warm... Tricky Zipper
Super warm and comfy! My only complaint is that the zipper can be a bit temperamental. If you don't line up the zipper parts 'just so' it sticks and won't close. It often takes 4-5 tries to get it right. I tried multiple coats on in the store and they were all the same. Still...it didn't stop me from buying it. Great coat.
