I've been waiting for this product since the last winter. At this point I can't provide an opinion as to its warmth value in the bitter cold, but I can say that the fit is wonderful, the conversion of removing and reinstalling the inside down part is easy, and finally it appears that this version of the jacket will be even more cold resistant than my 25+ year old similar jacket that the outside zipper broke on, and I returned for a full refund.

Awesome coat!
This coat is absolutely awesome. Worn in peak winter conditions here in Chicago. Minus 20’s and I’m still toasty. Breaks the wind with ease. As it’s warming up in spring, it’s nice to have the separates for chilly but not freezing and also for the rainy days. Yes, I agree with some of the other reviews about the placement of the external pockets for your hands. But the HUGE pockets are awesome to store anything and everything. Quality is as good as some other expedition weight coats I have worn and cost a lot less. Not inexpensive, but a great deal for what this coat is and does. This should last my lifetime it’s so well built.
