Rated 1 out of 5 by from Zipper Issues This is my second review of this Parka. In the first, 3 years ago, I gave it 5 stars. But after 3 seasons, two fighting with the zipper, I'm down to 1 star. First season, no problems, loved the parka. Second season, started to fight with zipper, but it still worked. Now after the third season, the zipper will not engage through the double zipper pulls to allow me to zip it up. Parka is in excellent condition, but now close to unusable because of the cheap zipper. No more LL Bean for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Cold Snaps I bought the Rugged Ridge Parka in December 2025, and not long after, Maryland was hit with a six-week cold snap. I wore it on my daily 3-mile morning walks in temperatures down in the teens, and it kept me perfectly warm. The coat and hood fit just right. At 6'3" and 205 lbs, I went with a large tall. It's probably the best winter coat I’ve ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and very warm My husband loves this coat. His last one from LLBean lasted a long time and is excellent for brutal winters and icy winds off Lake Superior!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great winter coat This parka is awesome. I like it so much, I've purchased twice. The original was purchased several years ago and was a little big on me. I've since lost weight, so it became really baggy so I decided to buy a new one in a smaller size. The original is still in great condition. The new one seems just as good in construction and materials, so always nice to see when a great product isn't tweaked for no reason. Would definitely recommend this coat to anyone needing a very warm parka.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and dry no matter what winter throws at us. I had bought an all blue version and proclaimed it the best winter coat ever! Then I lost it. Thank heaven you had another coat that is very similar. So now I have a new best ever coat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zippers failed after 2 years I really loved this jacket. It kept the cold, wind and rain out and it was nice to have a removable hood for sunny days. I don't agree with the other reviews about the pockets- they were big enough for me and the internal mesh pockets were also great for easy access to more bulky things. BUT- the other reviews about zippers are true for me too. The zipper now totally doesnt work and because this jacket doesn't have a button flap over the zippers I essentially can't use the jacket in bad weather. In fact, the zippers are so stuck that to use it at all I have to pull it over my head. I am from Maine and grew up with a whole wardrobe of LL Bean clothes that lasted decades. I still have items that I bought in the early 80s. It is hard for me to come to grips with an LLBean item failing like this.
