Our classic casual coat is easy to move in and layer under. With little touches like inverted pleats and buttoned patch pockets it's no surprise this coat continues to be a customer favorite, year after year. Inspired by our iconic Field Coat (originally named Maine Duck Hunting Coat), first introduced in 1924.

Flattering Barn Coat
I am so glad I have an LLBean near me now and I can try items on. I love this coat. I have always wanted a Barn Coat but they where always so boxy. This Barn Coat is slimming not boxy. The details are beautiful . The band detail in the back, with a yoke stitching helps it look slimming. I love the soft lining, the corduroy details. I am 70. 5'9" 180. Pear shape. It fits great at the hips not tight. The length and sleeves are perfect. I am not busty and there is room in the chest for a sweater. Great upper slide pockets. Lower pockets are small good for holding tissues. No inner pockets. If you want to carry your cellphone you'll have to hold it our use a cross bag. This doesn't keep me from purchasing this beautiful jacket.....

Love it
I purchased the lavender barn coat in petite medium and I am 115 pounds 5' 2 " and it fits a little roomy but perfect for a sweatshirt underneath. The sleeves fit perfectly with the brown cuffs turned up...the way I like it. The lavender pink collar is beautiful. I always wanted one of these but was waiting for thus unique color.
