Older is Better
I bought this sweater to replace An older version . My older one was in navy and I had it for a number of years But other than that the pattern was the same as this one. In comparison To the older version The stitches were much looser and wider and of less quality . The quality of this product is inferior To an older version that L.L. Bean used to sell.

OOH another wool sweater!!
I have 8 LL Bean wool sweaters now. 3 are cardigan, the rest are crew neck. Some of them are 25 yrs old, they are that perfect. I bought this one in black a few years ago and when I saw the red one on sale I had to get it.

Updated Memories of a Functionally Warm Sweater
A wonderful update of the sweater I wore while spending hours racing sailboats in the fall. The color is a fun addition to my wardrobe. Warm days and nights on the waterfront whether out for dinner or a walk with the dogs.

Very All Creatures Great and Small- scratchy
I love, love the pattern and colors in this sweater as it reminds me of our favorite TV series, All Creatures Great and Small. I have been wearing LL Bean for many years, even as a young 80's kid, so my expectations, with this $75 price tag, were optimistic. Be warned- this thing is scratchy. It also runs big. I wear a medium in J Crew Teddie sweaters and this is more like a large. And the construction, meager, at best. The shoulder seams are puckered and the sleeves, not tapered, so even the most toned arms will look bulky. Straight out of the package, there were already small pills under the arms. Made in Jordan, a place that cannot truly appreciate true craftsmanship for cold weather wear, or produce quality wool, Bean. I will be keeping it though, just because I really like All Creatures Great and Small. (and am hoping against hope that it softens up.) Price is too high for the quality.

Great cold weather sweater.
A classic fit, true to size. Hard to find 100% wool sweaters. This one is a nice heavy Shetland. Perfect for our cold Wisconsin weather. Love the burgundy color and birdseye knit.
