Solid rod
Out of the box I noticed immediately this rod is lighter than my other 5w 9’ rods and the aluminum case should work well for hikes in to remote ponds. I have stillwater fished approximately 20 hours with this rod in the past two weeks. Casts well with 5w lines (full sink, floating, & sinking tip) and the reel seat nut has not loosened with use which is a nice surprise. It has more backbone than my primary 4 piece 5w but loads well and was sensitive enough for smaller native Brookies. Time will tell if the rod holds up to high use.
