My Parka
This parka may be a little on the heavy side weight wise BUT it is the warmest that I have ever owned. It is also wind and water proof.

Survived single digit temps in Maine
I just spent two weeks in Maine in December where it was single digit temps everyday, picked up this coat from the Ellsworth outlet and kept me warm on walks with dog. It look great and most importantly helped me enjoy the frigid temps.

Truly an Incredible Piece of Kit!
I was initially somewhat hesitant to buy a parka this expensive from LL Bean, but this is truly an outstanding parka for so many reasons. The exterior fabric is a very durable nylon weave that holds up very well to city commutes and winter outdoor exploration. Though the two-way zipper does take some practice to master, it’s not as big of a deal as many reviewers make it seem. The zipper and pull hardware are extremely beefy and I’m not worried about them failing anytime in the next decade. I appreciate the button-down storm flap that secures over the zipper to keep wind from blasting through. The hood is adjustable with draw cords and I like that the faux-fur trim can easily be removed if that’s not your style (I leave it on as it helps break the wind!).
The jacket and hood are fully insulated and absolutely jam packed with down so this jacket is WARM for Wisconsin winters. My L Tall size is long enough in the sleeves and body and keeps me gloriously toasty. And the parka is loaded with pockets — two exterior top- and side-entry pockets near the hem, and some nice snap-secured hand warmer pockets are located on the chest. I appreciate that the rear hem area has some snaps that can be undone to make it easier to sit down/bend over while wearing the parka, even if I rarely use them.
A couple things to note — the velcro at the top zipper garage area will rub against the shoulder fabric and cause it to pill if you are not careful. I read about this in other reviews before buying the parka and solved the issue easily by covering that patch with a spare bit of Velcro. Also — take your usual size in this parka and don’t size down, or you won’t be able to comfortably fit layers underneath, move your arms freely, or zip the front zipper all the way up to your chin.
My only real critique is that there isn’t a pulley to tighten up the waist or bottom hem, as sometimes wind can sneak up through the bottom. Not a huge issue though. I love this parka so much I bought a second one in battleship blue to keep as a backup! I highly recommend this coat.

Best Parka Ever
I had my previous LL Bean parka for 47 years. Served me well, donated to a coat drive. This one is pure luxury in comparison. I went to the store to compare to the Baxter State parks. This one had enough extra features: better shell, more better pockets, knit cuffs and collar. It’s more than I need but as 72 yo man who walks for an hour or so everyday, it is treat. No excuses, it’s never too cold. It comforts me.

Great winter coat.
If your like me I get extremely cold in in the winter air. This is the warmest coat I have owned. It is very well made and insulated. It is not the cheapest but for me it was worth every penny.
