You won't be disappointed
Very well made. Pleasantly surprised. These are reminiscent of the earlier stuff.

Size does matter
I love all the features, especially a metal zipper. Im 6' 235lbs. I ordered a large, because of the previous reviews. It fit slightly snug, perfect fit with the sleeves. So i sent it back for a xl. Even better fit, now i can wear a wool vest under it. Sleeves are just a little long tho.

Great Purchase
Fits great, I feel it fits true to size, my only complaint is the top pockets are not pockets. That was 1 of the selling points for me. Those pockets are for my gloves. Now I have to send this into a seamstress to have pockets made for it.

Step aside Filson!
This Maine Guide Parka is 100% legit. I love wool products made to last and this thing is the thickest jacket I own. If you want quality without paying Filson's declining overseas nonsense, just buy this. (Order one size down)

Sizing Is Way Off
The jacket itself appears to be. Ice quality, however the sizing is horrible. A large is too small and tight with no extra room for a sweater. While the XL is way too big and could accommodate 10 sweaters. Terrible fitting coat.

I bought mine when front pockets had one snap each
Except for some moth holes, it's an excellent jacket. We had a slush/wind storm last Saturday and my five mile walk proved true what is said: "wool keeps you warm when it's wet." I went to the website to see if Bean's still sells it. Apparently they can't keep them in stock. I doubt I paid anywhere near 269 dollars. I live in Maine. Purchased before Bean's went global. I tuned in on the moth problem about five years ago. Bean's used to have an outlet/thrift store in Portland, overstocks, stuff like that. I read there are 42 heirs deciding what to do next. The size tag says "medium regular". "Made in Turkey"
