Waist cannot be tightened
I ordered a size Large, because my hip measurement. Since the elastic is stitched directly to the pant, the waist cannot be tightened. So they slide down and bag above my hips. Not a good look. If I keep them, I will cut an opening inside in the waist and add a draw cord.

Xlarge size pant.
The pant is very baggy through the waist and legs. If you buy you should definitely size down. Its not the quality that I was expecting. The pants are a little thin in material and too expensive for the quality.

Comfortable & nice fit
I was pleasantly surprised at the fit and comfort of these size small petite pants. I'm in my 70's and these fit very well with just enough room around the waist. The length was perfect for me at 5'2". Thought I'd need a medium, but am glad I got the small in petite.

Truly Perfect Fit
I have finally found a pair of dress pants that fit me perfectly. I wear an XS Petite and these are the right length, have an elastic waist all the way around and have two front pockets for my step counter! I bought one in black and will buy a couple more in other colors when I can. No more buying, trying and being disappointed.

Perfect Fit pants compared
Original Tapered-Leg pants are far and away my favorite of LL Bean's Perfect Fit Pants. They are the most comfortable fit for my body mostly because they are shaped like me (ankles and calves are still pretty trim, and I have a defined waist, but there's plenty of me in my upper thighs and rear end). That roominess at the top means I get two nice sized pockets, too. I compared all 4 Perfect Fit styles and found the Straight-Leg to be the next best (same roominess at the top as Original Tapered-Leg, and they have pockets), but I didn't like the look of the extra fabric flopping around my ankles, especially when I'm wearing "comfortable" shoes (don't all women of a certain age wear running shoes all the time?). The Slim fit pants are OK around the calves and ankles, but their snug fit in the upper thighs and rear end accentuates bumps and bulges I have up there (and the snug fit also means no pockets, of course). Finally, the Boot-Cut pants are the worst of both worlds for me -- snug on my thighs and rear, floppy on calves and ankles, and no pockets.
All four styles show the usual LLBean solid workmanship. Choosing between them just depends on the look and comfort you prefer.
