Comfort and warmth
I wasnt sure how well the insulated version would work considering how lightweight this jacket is. After a recent New England trip with temperatures into the mid-20's I'm sold. When layered up I never felt cold under the jacket.
As a bonus, it looks great and has a really nice fit.

nice and warm
Bought this coat to wear at work and it's a lot warmer than I expected. Fit is a bit more relaxed so I can layer underneath when needed.

Twofer
I've been buying Bean Anoraks for years and years. I may have done an earlier review, not sure. But, I call this a twofer, because basically it is a combination of two Anoraks sold by LL Bean. I just realized they no longer sell one of them. They used to sell a "primaloft" ONLY version of their Regular Anorak and it went perfectly under the regular Anorak. I did this for years then they combined the two into one and this is it. It is an excellent light to even very cold snowshoeing and/or Cross Country skiing or just if you are hopping in and out of the car in a very cold town/city. I'd be sure and get a big one for more layers underneath.
I live in an area with 95%+ powder snow (Montana) and the outer layer and/or regular Anoraks are perfect for that. If you live in a more wet snow environment, the outer layer is NOT totally waterproof but is very resistant... And Primaloft is very good even wet.

Far Too Big
Ordered a Large as I have 4 other LL Bean Anoraks all in Large. But this item in a Large is a tent on me. I haven’t worn a Medium since Jr High 40+ years ago, and many pounds ago. For probably 25 years I was an XL in anything like this, but now I’m a Large 50% of the time (and I have not gotten and smaller.) I’m aware that “American” sizes have gotten larger in recent decades as Americans have gotten larger (myself included) but this is beyond ridiculous. A complete waste of time.

love Love LOVE
I love this anorak. I am 6’1”, 170 lbs and got the Large Tall. It’s roomy but not too big; definitely enough room for an extra layer for colder months. The hood is a great size and provides good coverage. The lining is warm to keep the chill away during this rainy spring.

Winter men’s jacket
I bought this jacket for when we visit Maine. I just went there. I wore it through a snowstorm. It was very warm keeping me dry from sleet and snow.
