Rated 4 out of 5 by AlaskanHomeschoolMam from Great fleece, but... First of all, I love LL Bean sweater fleece and I own several. I love the cut of this coat--good for a pear shaped figure. It fits like other Bean fleeces, size wise. The port color is really beautiful. BUT, is it just me or is this fleece material not as substantial as the other Bean sweater fleeces? It seems like the fleece material is not the same weight and quality as my prior purchases. Definitely not worth 99$. I got this one on sale and with two gift cards, so I can handle that. However, LL Bean, we come back to you because we like quality. If you start skimping but continue to charge high prices, we'll start looking elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MandMs from Slender and stylish I wouldn't really call this a coat--it is halfway between a long fleece jacket and a zippered sweater. The longer length is good to wear with leggings or exercise clothes. The fit is close to the body, and the sleeves are snug, meaning that you can wear a long-sleeved tee under them but not much else. I got the charcoal color, which has a nice tweedy pattern. The two-way zipper is a necessity with the longer length of the coat. A zipper garage at the top would be a nice addition, as the zipper can rub your neck when it is completely zipped up. The fleece is warm, but not windproof. I'm 5'5" and 130 lbs, and the Medium fit me fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by KMFresno from Not up to standard This would have been my fourth sweater fleece product but it is not up to the quality of the other three jackets. The material is very flimsly. I compared it with my 3 year old sweater fleece that has been worn and washed extensively and the material was about half as thick and has no substance. Also it is a bit tight through the hips which you do not want in a jacket that is this long. I did like the double zipper and wish this was used in all of the fleece jackets. Just not up to the old quality and would not work for me for the purpose I intended because of how flimsy it is. I doubt it would be any where near as warm as my other sweater fleeces.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kruzingwithk9s from not the best I love long fleece jackets and have been trying to find a good one since another company stopped making them. This was a bit tight and I bought an xlarge. I am a small person so it did not fit according to their size charts. It was way too expensive but I splurged because of trying to find something (I usually keep my jackets for years and years so price is okay if it lasts a long time). The zipper is hard to get to go up every time I wear it. If the two zippers are not lined up exactly , you will spend five or 10 minutes just trying to zip it. I saw another review where it said it piled and it does.

Rated 3 out of 5 by puppymommy from Undecided First, I think it looks very nice on. Deep port is nice rich shade. Has a nice little shape to it, so, not boxy. However, hold it up to the window and it is thin enough to make out the blue sky and a building in the distance. Need more than cotton long sleeves on a 40 degree day. Any wind goes right through. So, not warm enough at 40 degrees and at 50 degrees, looking a little too "wintery" for spring! It seems more a fashion item than having great functionality. I realize others love it. Personally, I don't think it will work for me. Just to wear around the house, I don't find zippers convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sandypineslover from A Real Lifesaver for me! I have been meaning to sing the praises of this product for over a year but just never got around to it. I can put it off no more. It is the best fleece/sweatshirt ever made in my opinion! I was hospitalized in West Michigan in late fall a year ago. It was perfect for my recovery. It was even long enough to cover all the tubes attached to me. It washes up like a dream and a year later I am completely healed and it is still my "go-to" sweatshirt/coat for all of those days in Michigan when it is over 45 degrees. It still looks like new. I have the spruce color and even now, receive compliments on it!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Provencetraveler from Sweater Fleece Coat I have been looking for a light jacket for cooler weather that is a little longer about mid-thigh like this one. I like the style of the jacket very much, but I don't like the sweater material on the outside. I wish that L.L. Bean made this style in all polar fleece. The overlay of the sweater material makes this jacket heavier. Also, I have always ordered a Petite-Medium in all of the L.L.Bean jackets, without a problem, but this one is particularly narrow, not allowing for any layering underneath. So, I would consider this more of a sweater, than a jacket, but again, I think it is too heavy and stiff to be used as a sweater. I am disappointed because I liked the styling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dragonflyblue from Flattering and warm I'm so glad that I purchased this beautiful jacket. It fits perfectly and looks very flattering. I usually wear a size 16, mostly because of a 42" bust and the XL fits just right. I like that it has a nice princess shape to it. I've worn it almost constantly since I received it. Our temps here in Oregon have been in the 30's and 40's and this has kept me very cozy and warm. When outside I have worn a lightweight coat over it in the wind and I've been very comfortable. I'm thinking about buying another because I like them so much. I haven't washed it yet, but will most likely hang it to dry rather than put it in the dryer.
