Rated 4 out of 5 by LittlestLibrarian from Size down I'm 1/2 inch over 5' ft, 125 pounds, "sturdy" arms, 34B/C. Much to my surprise, the xs petite fits with enough room to wear a thin t-shirt and a thin/dress cardigan underneath it and not be tight. If you want to wear this as an alternative to a cardigan, size down from your regular size. If you want to wear this more as a coat or wear a really thick sweater or fleece under it, order your regular size. The sleeves are a reasonable length (I'm on the short side, after all)--they reach to one inch above my knuckles and just skim my thumb knuckle . . . about one inch too long but it doesn't look sloppy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by citycountrymouse from Cute, but not for me I am in search of a lightweight jean jacket, so I was excited to try this one in the gray color. The description says it's slightly fitted, but unfortunately, when I tried it on, it was very wide and boxy on me, shapeless and unflattering. I didn't try it in a smaller size because the sleeves were already borderline too short. I think the description should be more accurate: the garment is not "slightly fitted"; it's really just a standard, rather boxy jean jacket. However, I would recommend it for someone who wants a relaxed fit and isn't tall. It's well-made and cute as a button! The fabric felt nice, too. It just didn't work on me... the search continues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AuntieMJ from 1912 Jean Jacket Classic! I own this jean jacket (size M, 5'6", 155lbs) in several colors (okayeeee, more than several!) LOL I'm a blue jean baby and also enjoy "completing" my outfit. The 1912 classic Jean Jacket accomplishes this, giving me the put-together look that I love. The jacket pares easily with jeans BUT so much more:, dresses, skirts & skinny pants. Size M is plenty roomy (with the exception of the grey which tends to run a size smaller). Each color is lovely ( I've got the lighter blue on back-order) because it looks SO beautiful on my twin sister!) I consider this a wardrobe basic/builder and highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanShopper026 from Great classic jean jacket Love this jacket! I haven’t had one since grade-school & have been wanting one. This one is a bit “thinner” than I remember classic jeans/jean jackets of the past but that seems on par with anything “jean” these days. That said, I do love this jacket, great classic style. I usually buy size small but sometimes err on the larger end and get Med. In this case, I’m glad I got Med... a little extra room to wear layers underneath in cooler weather, and sleeve length is great (feared they would be too short w/small - a common prob I have when buying small) with room to roll them nicely in warmer weather (and not be tight to my forearm). Falls perfectly just above hips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tisha123 from The.Best! I love this jacket! I purchased the XL in Stonewash and right out of the bag it felt like I'd owned it for years. So soft and incredibly comfortable. I went back to order the Sea Salt. It too, was just as soft. I've washed and dried both jackets with minimal shrinkage most notable in the length of the jacket. I'm back for the Rinsed color. Admittedly, I'm a jean jacket junkie and own a few Levi jackets as well; however, this LL Bean 1912 jacket is a winner. I live in Southern California and the weight of the jacket is perfect. Levi's tend to be a heavier denim which would work only in cooler months here in Cali.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mrscomics from Awesome Grey Color/Quality Jacket/Suggestion... High quality denim jacket, love the grey color. I have a few jean jackets - but sometimes wearing a denim jacket with denim jeans doesn't quite match up. In the spring/summer I can pair a white jean jacket and that works with jeans. Now this grey color goes with EVERYTHING. Nice buttons/ styling, and fabric.SUGGESTION: I would prefer this jacket a little longer. I have some other brands that are cut longer and that is flattering - and as a boomer, would prefer this jacket a tad longer. Otherwise this is a great wardrobe staple, classic and the grey is fabulous. Very comfortable too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NightBirdFarm from Fabulous! This is one of my all-time favorite finds from LL Bean. I'm 5'6" and have a 38 inch bust and average arm length. Ordered a large in the faded denim color and it fits well. It does not bind through the shoulders and accommodates a light sweater underneath. The fabric is not stiff as some customers complained. It feels soft and "broken in." The construction is top quality and styling is great. Looks especially great with a turtleneck. I washed it in cool water and dried it on low heat. There was no shrinkage. I like this so much, I may get another in a different color. Thank you, LL Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gramjam3 from Perfect for me I received this jacket this week and I absolutely love it. I am an 85 year oldl lady and this will be my go to jacket for most of the year. It has 2 large pockets on the inside which are large enough to hold my wallet, cell phone and keys On the outside of the jacket ther are 4 more smaller pockets for other stuff. No need for me to carry a purse because I like to go light. I have the XL petite because I can layer with a long sleeved top. I followed the instructions for washing it and drying it first. It came out soft and no ironing necessary
