    Why We Love It
Whoever says, "they don't build things like they used to," doesn't own a pair of these. Our signature boots are still sewn right here in Maine - one pair at a time - by expert craftspeople whose technical skills and passion for their work is evident in every pair they make. As rugged and hardworking as they were over 100 years ago, chances are you'll only ever need one pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Laces break easily This is my third pair of L.L. Bean rubber mocs . The laces on the previous two pair have broken after a few months of use. From then on I improvise with twine. Llbean will relace them, but the user has to pay for shipping cost both ways. I continue to buy these because they are ideal for work in the barn and garden. L.L. Bean, if you are listening, come up with better laces or an easier way to relace them at home.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I don't love them, but I don't hate them I have a narrow foot so I tried both the narrow and regular widths. I went with the regular. After a few weeks - they are just OK, not fabulous like I'm led to believe by ratings. They don't really tighten with the lace - is it just there for show? When I do try to tighten it a bit, the flap just contorts into odd positions and it's uncomfortable. Yes, they are waterproof, so that's good. If they are loose enough to slip into, they tend to come off my foot. So not the fabulous shoe I was looking for, and I'm glad I got them on sale. Oh, and the laces always come loose, even double knotted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfrey rubber boots These boots are very comfortable, easy to put on and walk in. They do run large so size down. I purchased these boots to take the dog outside when the grass is wet or when we have 1-2 inches of snow. They have a nice gripping sole and easy to keep clean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Soles are thin! When did you guys start making the soles of these shoes so thin?. If you get these, you better get insoles to go with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not secure on my feet. I would not buy them again. I really want to like these shoes, but i don't. I bought them to have something waterproof to quickly step into when I run out to the garden. One shoe fits sort of okay. The other slides off my heel when I walk. (I tried a smaller size also: too small.) Both shoes feel like they're going to fall off when I walk. The tongues catch on my socks and get stuck and dragged into the shoe when I step into them. Right now I'm still wearing them and hoping they'll work better when I break them in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SIZE DOWN!! I was purchasing these as a gift and went with my mom's normal size. I guess the "problem" was on my end actually - I didn't think sizing down an entire size seemed right. But, they're being returned and hopefully this pair will work for her. 100% size down!! They actually flopped if she took a step.
