Rated 5 out of 5 by Ander from Husband Loves these My husband loves these union suits. He is an RN in a hospital and he wears them under his uniform all winter. He is very active in his job and the one-piece style keeps them in place when he is reaching and bending. He normally wears a medium and that is the size of the first one we purchased. As others say, it is very baggy in the seat. He wanted a second one so we ordered a small. It fits fine in the seat but the buttons pull just a bit across the chest, however he is proportionately larger than average in his upper chest area. I asked him if we buy another which size he would prefer and he just shrugged and said either one is fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TexasDallas from Very warm and soft This is a very warm union suit. Perfect for winter wear. I do love this union suit, the cotton/wool mix is perfect for cold weather camping. I use this as my sleepwear. If I have to get out of my sleeping bag in the middle of the night I don't freeze to death. Has one problem, the button holes are too large. If laying down or sleeping the buttons always pop open. I had to sew the button holes smaller. I'm a average (medium) size man the neck is a little tight. I just don't use the top button. The best one on the market, hands down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by olefrijole from Ready for the next polar vortex I read the reviews from others and needed something a cut above my regular 2 piece pajamas. I bought these in large (44 chest, 36 waist). These fit ok in the upper body and a mite snug in the legs. The crotch hangs about 2 inches lower than me. As others reported, the button for the rear flap keeps coming loose. I will have that buttonhole reduced or get a bigger matching button. I tried these on when it was a comfy 76 degrees last night and I expected to be too warm but actually the union suit was quite comfortable. My wife thinks it has too many buttons on the front side. After wearing it for a while I can see why this item is so popular.

Rated 1 out of 5 by xoxobean from Too-long longjohns I gave my husband a Medium size Red union suit for Christmas. He is 'normally' proportioned, but according to the fit of the union suit, his torso should be about 2 feet longer and his legs 2 feet shorter!!! It looks ludicrous on him; I can't even imagine the discomfort factor when having to stuff all that torso material under pants. I love LLBean products and consider myself an LLBean addict. However, these are coming back as soon as I can get to the post office. Hopefully, LLBean will test these out on some Bean employees and see what I'm referring to; I know other customers have commented on the poor shape and excess torso. I hoped they were wrong. Nope.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ikkabod70 from Disappointed My wife purchased these for me for Christmas. After wearing them on a weekly basis for several months now, i must say i am rather disappointed. First off, the fit is weird. The torso is too long and the legs too short. The buttons do not stay buttoned. I am constantly having to re-button them. And after only three months, it is falling apart at the seems. I have already had to repair the ankle cuff on one leg. And now the seams in the upper leg are coming apart. I will say the union suit is very warm. Just not up to the quality i would expect from LL Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DocNC from Laugh if you will The two layers system works great to control itch, the inner cotton layer is durable and soft to touch. The front buttons sewing difficulties seem to have been solved however the back door flap still requires the same problem to be fixed. That being said I love this product so much I just ordered another pair for daily use, hunting, and hiking. I also feel that the design makes way more sense than a split heating base layer. This is way more comfortable and affordable. They tend to run large so you may want to order a size down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AdventureDad from I've now purchased 4 of them! These union suits are incredible. I've purchased two for gifts and two for myself. One note about those that are tall. I originally purchased the tall large, but had to upsize it to an extra large. I'm 6 1/2 feet tall and 205 pounds and was concerned that the extra large would simply be added width. The extra width was hardly noticeable (but the tiny bit of length added helps). THESE DO SHRINK A LITTLE BIT AT FIRST EVEN WHEN WASHED WITH COLD WATER AND DRIED WITH LITTLE TO NO HEAT. Other than the sizing note for tall folks like myself i'd simply echo how awesome these are and encourage you to have a few in rotation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MCKO from A onesie ahead of its time? I was very excited to order this union suit for my son for Christmas. However, when he tried it on the fit was far from satisfactory. He wears small sizes of pretty much everything so I ordered one of these in a small. I wonder if L L Bean sized these union suits for giants. This particular item looked like one of those "fashionable" drop-crotch pants that Lady Gaga advocates. Additionally, the foot openings were far too tight to accommodate normal-sized feet. However, the fabric was pleasantly heavy and I can imagine they would have been very warm if they had fit him. If L L Bean were to change these many aspects I would consider exchanging the union suit I purchased for a new one.
