Why We Love It
An L.L.Bean exclusive, our plush flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

- Authentic yarn-dyed tartans stay vibrant and colorful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Magnetis from Material has changed I have been purchasing these PJs for my father for many years because of their comfort and quality. The PJs would last for several years. The last couple of sets I have purchased are of an inferior quality which have lasted just a few months before being relegated to the trash. The material becomes thin and fragile, subject to tears and holes. I am unable to repair them because the material has become so thin. I suspect there has been a change in the material, as it seems much lighter and less substantial than before. I regret that I now will have to find another source for quality PJs for my dad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lexee from Used to be the best pj you could buy I purchase a pair of these every year and the quality has gradually been declining but this year was definitely the worst. I didn't have as many issues with the pilling as other reviewers after washing them by themselves initially but these are downright thin and not winter weight at all. I called to speak to a representative about the quality and they said they hadn't changed them since last year but I beg to differ. They are definitely inferior to last years and every year prior. Customer service recommended washing them before wearing to thicken them up and I did that but sadly, no change. Sending back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rose17 from Rose17 I have never had a problem with LL Bean products but I purchased the Black Watch Plaid Men's Pajamas. The quality that I have always found with their products, was not so with these. I washed them and never had as much lint with anything as I did with these. I filled my fist with it and was sadly surprised. The quality of flannel cloth that LL Bean is now receiving from overseas is inferior. Please review your product and you will see that it doesn't match your quality labeling. Should anyone still go ahead and buy these pajamas they are going to be disappointed. I did take a picture but I couldn't transfer here.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Krystyna from Disappointed of the quality at the price point I ordered this PJ set as a Christmas gift for my 90 Dad. I was so happy to order this PJ set as they are not a popular choice and hard to find in stores. I was confortable in ordering from LL Bean knowing that their quality standards are high. Well, that was until I opened the package. The frabric is flimsy, the cut of the PJ shirt looks off, the arm holes are too high, I question the comfort across the shoulders. I've worked in the textile business so I know quality at a glance. Being from Canada this purchased came to $80. At this price point and a LLBean item I am very disappointed and in a panic before Christmas.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hershell from Flaking I purchased the green/black scotch plaid pajamas and the experience was horrible. After one washing the lint filter literally had a quarter inch of lint. And upon wearing them, the pajamas continued flaking on my white socks, bed linens, chairs and anything they came in contact with. These little round black lint balls were everywhere and trying to pick them off was endless and never was able to rid them from items they came in contact with. I basically have ruined items I cannot wear. After this happened, I wished and dried the pajamas two more times and even after the third time, the lint filter had a hand full of lint. I returned them and got a different color and they are fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mrhulot from Massive decline in quality I've been buying these scotch plaid flannel pajamas for eons, mostly from LL Bean. Unfortunately, my recent purchase (01/2017) represents a huge decline in quality. There's lots of shedding, even after two wash/dry cycles. Made a complete mess of things. Perhaps, if I washed the pajamas another couple times, the shedding would stop, but by then, there probably wouldn't be much fabric left, given the rate of shedding so far. I've returned this item. I'll try again next winter, as I have, in the past, always really liked these pajamas. Let's hope they'll have a better supplier by then.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Stavanger from Love the flannel, but... I own 5 LLBean flannel nightgowns, 4 in Norway where I live and 1 in San Diego, now my second home. Love them all and they last forever. However, I have a question about the Grey Stewart flannel PJs I recently gave my husband. After the first wash, the dryer filter was clogged with dark lint, there was also lint all over the bottom sheet, and after the second and third wash the dryer filter is still completely full of dark lint. Is this because they are "brushed on both sides?" My husband doesn't feel they have the same "plushness" or warmth as the first time he wore them. Would love to recommend them, but.... Norway/S.D.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MoonstoneMagick from The Perfect Gift! After reading the reviews on the women's version of this PJ, I decided to try the men's. I am 5"9, approximately size 14-16 and ordered the Large. WOW, are these great! Super soft (not too thick or too thin). Great quality. Top is perfectly roomy and the bottoms comfortable. The inseam runs around 32". (Depending on where your natural waist is or if you like to wear your bottoms high or low, you can roll the elasticizedand tie string waistband to your comfort). Did I mention pockets? WooHoo! One chest pocket, two side pant pockets (something the women's version sadly does not have - take note LLB)! Getting ready to order another color! VERY pleased! Thanks LL Bean!
