Rated 1 out of 5 by StewartW from If I could only keep them hemmed... Bought three pairs of these pants. After about a month, the hems began coming out. Eventually came out of all three pairs. I took them to a professional tailor and paid to have them rehemmed. Several weeks later, the hems are again coming out. I am 53 years old and have never had this experience with pants before. I am a college professor, so it's not as though they get rough use. (I can vouch for other reviewers' comments about the wideness of the legs too.) I buy a lot of merchandise from Bean, but this was my first experience with their pants, and I suspect it will be the last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by 2ndGenBeanShopper from Just not the right fit for Dad Love the concept of the comfort waist, but since the only style that it is offered in is way too big in the seat and baggy in the legs, it is not a viable option. I measured my father's waist, a clear and simple 37", so that's what I ordered. It was huge on him. Since he is very straight from waist through the hips, and has no butt to speak of, the pants slid right off him. I then ordered a 36", which also did the same thing. Anyway, they are way too baggy in the seat, even for a guy who likes a lot of room there. I returned both pairs that I ordered. The quality of the garment was good, but they fit entirely wrong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TooShortTooFat from button down flaps Come out of dryer ready to wear, Look very nice and feel great. I don't like the button down flaps on the rear pockets. I find them hard to unbutton. Also I can't get my change out of the little change pocket within the right pocket. I sewed it shut on one pair. On another pair I sewed the bottom so the change pocket was less deep. That has helped. Some of the problem may be my fingers don't work as well as they used to. So, my fingers are 82 years old and with the problems mentioned I still LOVE these pants. I have two pair, different colors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Customer19681968 from They forgot the hem, but everything else was okay I ordered two pairs of these pants. I order them a couple of times a year and have never had a problem. Unfortunately, one of the two pairs arrived unhemmed, even though the packaging on the pants indicated the correct waist and inseam. I would have sent them back but I needed the pants, so I hammed them myself and let it go. This is the first time I've ever had any problems with something LLB has sent, so I plan to continue buying from them. The pants themselves are comforable and look good, though not as hard-wearing as I would like. I tend to replace them after eight months or so. They show wear at the top of the pants and the cuffs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BingoMan from Short fly zipper I have purchased these pants for years. For some reason, the fly zipper has been shortened in the last year or so, which makes it more awkward to use for its purposes. I get the same relaxed fit and therefore waist to inseam length as always, but a short fly. I have compared to older LL Bean trousers of same style, and fly is most definitely shortened.

Rated 1 out of 5 by beanfanwestcoast from why change quality? NEW buyers won't know the difference. I have always been pleased with these upper end chinos. Suddenly it looks like the manufacturor saved a few pennies by using a coarser material, shortening the zipper. and using less material. As a dedicated L.L.Bean customer I have grown accustoned to the quality of your products now I don't know what to expect from L.L.Bean. If you are going to change the quality, size, etc. please let us know.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RYIRYI from Disappointed I recently ordered 2 pair of Tropical weight chino pants comfort fit plain front pants that I love. So I ordered the wrinkle free dress chinos natural fit hidden comfort plain front. They came on thursdayMay 5,2016. They did not even look like dress pants. Material was coarse, too big in seat and legs. Looked nothing like the picture. I would like to think you had sent me the wrong pants, but that probably isn't true. Joe

Rated 3 out of 5 by pabuckhunter from why split front pocket I buy a lot of Bean clothing but was reluctant to buy these pants because the last Bean dress pants I bought had split front pockets. The quality of these pants is up to LL Bean standards, however, I cannot understand why anyone would make a pant with a split front pocket. It is very hard to get items out of the right pocket with them being split like they are. I will not buy these pants again without verifying that they have changed the pockets.
