Men's Ultralight 850 Down Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 595.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced by prior 850 This replaced by 3 year old 850. Would you replace a jacket if you didn’t love it. After 3 years, the first one lost more than half of its down. But it is so light, packable and warm that I just needed to get a new one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not as good as before I have an older version of the 850 which is a great jacket so I ordered a new one. I miss the fleece lined outer pockets and the fleece collar and the inside zippered pocket. I ordered the same size as before, the jacket by design is more fitted and the arm holes are tighter. It is still my go to jacket even though I am not able to layer. I live in the NW where there are lots of great brands to compare and I think the LL Bean 850 down is the best all around jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Than The Others I have jackets of this type from different companies. Even at a discount from LL Bean this jacket was still more expensive than the others I've purchased but it has a higher down rating and just seems to fit better. I also purchased the hooded version and it is the only one that has an insulated hood with a drawcord. Since I purchased these jackets in warmer weather, I have not had an opportunity to test them in winter conditions. I'm looking forward to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice jacket. Weather hasn't been below 30 since I got the coat so hard to tell just how warm it will be. But it's well made with quality zippers and cuts the wind well. Fit is true to size. The one thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the pockets are not lined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as good I purchased a 850 jacket in 2011 and it is much thicker than my new one. Like my 2011 jacket much better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm but fragile jacket I appreciate the warmth and light weight of this jacket but note that the fabric is a bit fragile. It tears rather easily so any rough treatment is out. I normally wear a large in Bean size but had to reorder an X large in this particular style as Large was a bit small. The X large is a bit too large but wearable.
