Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun anorak for cooler summer days I got the one in natural/bright orange and it’s updated retro look makes it really fun to wear. I got a size L and it’s true to size (even though the description says it’s a slim fit). I like the fabric. I forget what it’s called but it’s a synthetic nylon that really does have the smoothness and feel of cotton. It has the breathable feel of cotton and will dry off faster. Perfect for a New England/Canadian summer at the lake house. Nice big anorak pouch for stashing anything you need within reach, even a book! The pouch also doubles as a stowaway pouch for the jacket to fold into itself for packing. I recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful retro The colorway looks even better in person. I like that the jacket pulls in a variety of colors pulling from throwback retro colors. The bit of a pattern above the front pocket also adds to the look with an extra level of detail. I really like how lightweight the jacket is as I'd wear it in some light rain situations. The jacket won't add much warmth but I can see adding a light layer below it for a bit of warmth. Something I wasn't expecting were the pockets for the hands in the front similar to a hoodie front pocket. I really like this touch. Only slight complaint is the hood is rather large on me. However, this isn't a bad thing as it will do a good job of keeping rain off me and my glasses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 3 Season Jacket Comfortable and Lightweight. I love the color scheme. Most effective use for this jacket will be as a 3 season windbreaker. If I need to improve its water resistance I plan on using a NIKWAX product as the jacket is definitely water resistant and not water proof. Most important note is they run large. On average across retail I wear a medium, however a Small worked best for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honestly the best jacket in existence Utility: This thing is the perfect every day jacket; wind resistant, yet BREATHABLE, rain resistant enough as is, better with a coat of Nikwax. Roo pocket is awesome, so is the useable zippered roo/packing pouch. Fit: I got the tall for sleeve length (monkey arms), and am happy with it. The hood stays on your head without the need to zip all the way up, even in a stiff breeze. Possibly overlooked, but as a guy that tends to run hot, it’s much appreciated.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT waterproof or even close First off, great looking piece fits great (got the tall version) and great colors BUT this is not even close to being waterproof or weatherproof. Got this for a trip to the San Juan Islands in WA and knew it might drizzle a bit. It was just what I wanted, a light shell that wouldn't be too warm but should keep me relatively dry, but not even close. There was a light drizzle on a hike one day and I was SOAKED, shirt under it was soaked, my skin arms were soaked, it was worthless. Might keep you dry from a mister at your local mall on a hot day but forget about any rain or moisture from weather. Sending it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good layer This clothing piece is a lightweight layer for repelling wind and for fighting a mist. I have yet to subject it to a noteworthy rain. The fit and feel are excellent, plus the front pockets, particularly the zippered one, very functional. The front zipper allows adjustment to changing temperatures, as does the hood. A heavy denim shirt might provide as much warmth but it would lack the versatility and not look as good as this pullover.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This anorak a little too close to an ano-wreck ... As a loyal and very happy customer of Bean’s for well over 30 years, I am loathe to complain or find fault; but I’m afraid I must, in the case of this item. Regrettably, I can only rate it for a couple stars. My main complaints are that it is not lined at all; and while the colors are attractive, the material is quite thin and unsubstantial. Despite the construction, which seems fine, the result is flimsy in looks and feel. You can literally see through the fabric. I don’t know the weight of the fabric in terms of ounces; but it’s very light, indeed. Perhaps an OK choice for some people in certain situations; but its lack of functional qualities led me to send it back -- like it was on a long rubber band ...
