Rated 5 out of 5 by OnTheGoMommy2 from Waterproof and durable I have purchased these boots for my daughters multiple times over the years. We live in Northern Maine and spend a lot of time outside playing in the snow. Their feet stay warm and dry. Sometimes, in the Spring, their feet may get a little wet, but they come with an extra liner that is easy to swap out. I bought Bogs for my daughters one year and then I switched back to these again because they complained about their feet getting wet and cold with the Bogs. These boots are durable. I usually get 2 winters out of each pair before they are outgrown, and then they are still in good enough shape to be passed down. They are well worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rcemre from Liners wore out far too quickly! The title pretty much sums it up! I wanted to love these boots, but my boys wore through through BOTH pairs of liners in just one season. Unfortunately, LLBean doesn't offer replacement liners for purchase anymore, either. So now we have two pairs of near perfect outers that are useless without the liners. I purchase LLBean with the expectation that we will be able to pass them down to the next child for at least another season--if I thought a boot was only going to last for a single winter I would purchase at a big box store. These boots unfortunately don't live up to the standard I usually expect from LLBean!

Rated 2 out of 5 by OutdoorEDV from wet feet These boots are not waterproof. My 5-year old son likes the feel of the boots and enjoys wearing them, but EVERY time he goes out in the snow, his feet get wet. I put his snow pant liner securely over the boot, so I know no snow is sneaking in from the top. We sent the first pair back because I thought they were defective, but the new pair leaks through, too. It's great that they come with 2 pair of removable liners, but I should not have to take them out EVERY night to dry them. Additionally, the back of one pair of liners wore through after only a couple of months. We have always relied on Bean for outdoor boots, but I am sad to say we would not order these again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by momof1son from Wonderful!!! I live in Northern WI just off Lake Superior. YES! It gets very cold and we have snowy long winters. I have been buying these for my now 9 yr old son for the last 3 years. I just placed an order for season 4. I have never had a problem with the liners wearing out and have never needed to use the extra set of liners that come with the boots. (YES, you get 2 pair of liners with your order.) The boots are tall so snow doesn't get in even when digging tunnels or making snowmen in deep snow. My sons feet stay warm and dry after playing for hours outside in the snow. I LOVE these boots and will buy them every season. THANK YOU LLBEAN! :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nessie82 from Not waterproof These were my daughter's snowboots we kept at preschool for the winter. They play outside every day even in the snow. No matter what, these were soaked through every day leaving her with wet socks and feet. Sometimes they wouldn't even by dry by the next day. I understand they have replaceable liners but I'd rather her feet stay dry in the first place - especially when it was darn near impossible to get the new liner into the boot. The cheaper boots we got at a chain store worked much better and keep her feet dry because they are water proof all the way up to the top. Usually I recommend LL Bean to everyone but in this case I tell people to steer clear of these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by sizinginfo from My son's choice every season! We've only ever used two brands of snow boots for our son, who is now 10. For the last 5 years, these boots are all he wants to wear. The quality is outstanding, the tread is unbeatable - and the extra set of liners is totally worth it! There has been times too much snow got inside his boots and he needed them for school the next day - we would switch out the liner. We also use our boot dryer and leave the liners in. The whole boot and liner are dry by the next morning. When my son outgrows them, we are able pass them on (which is great for a 10 year old boy to not destroy them!!) - and also both sets of liners. Great price for the quality!

Rated 3 out of 5 by upincanada from Reinforce the liners and I'm sold! We're coming to the end of a LONG winter up in Canada and my 8-yr-old has worn through all the liners that came with these boots. The construction of the outer part of the boot is great and they must have been comfortable, because she wore them even when there was no snow and wore the treads down on the heels because of it. They were tall and warm and great for playing in the snow, but the liners are flimsy. My other daughter has Kamik boots and the liners are reinforced with a strong fabric patch over the heels. Maybe LL Bean would consider something like this? And then I would buy these boots for all my kids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by newmidwestshopper from Great boots for kids, please make in bigger sizes! We love these boots. I think we have a pair in every size for the kids. Just keep passing them down to the next kid! Hardly ever use the extra boot liner, but they do come in handy sometimes. Kids find them easy to put on, never complain about cold feet, and they last forever. Only complaint is now that my 13 year old is a size 8 shoe, they don't make them in his size. Wish they made them bigger. He is a size 12 in kids clothes sizes, just wish they made kids boots to fit. LLBean, please consider this. I am going to have to purchase $100+ mens boots for him that he will outgrow in a year.
