Rated 1 out of 5 by JBaber from Poor Design I feel this bag overall is a poor design. I don't like it's structure and wish that it would hold it's shape better to accommodate loading items into it without having to hold it open with one hand. The strap is way too long. At it's shortest position it still falls beneath my back-side and bounces awkwardly as I walk along. Biggest issue with the bag is the buckles where the shoulder strap attaches. They squeak incessantly, non-stop with each step It's true that the bag would be more useful if it incorporated a few pockets. That said although I really find it quite handsome I can't deal with the annoying noise it makes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mountainroad from Love this bag! I use this bag for work. It holds my lunch, a sweater, various trinkets and my purse. So instead of bringing 4 different bags they all fit into this one. The squeak.... I read all about this squeak and I decided to buy despite the annoying noise everyone was mentioning. Mine squeaked the very first day I bought it (I felt there was a I told you so from the other reviewers). I oiled/greased to no avail. One day I simply switched the clasp to clipping in from the other direction and it hasn’t squeaked since. Literally that’s all I did. Hopefully this simple fix will help the others. I completely recommend this bag. Super sturdy and big enough for the kitchen sink.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BringBackCotton from Don't change something that works! I love the Hunter's tote bags. I think I have eight of them. I use them for my work equipment that gets shuttled around in trucks and cars and they can really tolerate the unexpected like moisture and dirt. The most recent tote I ordered is slightly different in that you have added a detachable shoulder strap and have eliminated the plastic ring located on the former model on the broad side of the bag. I used that ring to attach an ID tag and now have to use the zipper toggle. I personally find the shoulder strap useless as the bags are filled to capacity and far too heavy to sling over my arm. I hope you will some day offer the extra large bags in black.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AngelinaG from The squeaky bag I bought a large hunters tote over a year ago & get compliments everywhere I go. When the new version was released, I was excited to get the medium size for my new “teacher bag” and another large, just because! The medium bag is functional, but a bit tight for all my school things. It fits a binder and a couple notebooks well, but get a large if you need to carry more than that. The bad news: I recently had to stop using it for school because the squeak!! The new strap attachments are terribly loud. Please, LLBean, fix this! I’d love a few more, but can’t stand the squeak!

Rated 5 out of 5 by quitannoyingme from Medium is perfect size, great bag I've been using the medium bag for about 3 or 4 weeks and it's as good as the large but the size is much better. It's easier to carry on the shoulder, too. I can fit my insulated lunch pack in it, plus a water bottle and a few other things. It would also work well if used as a tote for a shopping trip or whatever. The "hardware" on this one is plastic, whereas it is metal on the large bag. These bags do well in the rain, seem to shed water very well. The inside of the medium and large bags have a rubber-like coating. I still kept the large bag; I'll use it for something else. Both are very nice-looking bags. I'm very pleased with this one and would definitely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bigbaglady from Preferred old design without strap I love the Hunter tote bags and have ordered many monogrammed bags to give as gifts. I used to order the zip top bag however I've been disappointed in the new strap design. It's probably practical if you are actually hunting with it, but unfortunately it doesn't look nice. The new strap and its anchoring points are bulky and unattractive, not nearly as nice as the old design which was more streamlined. I'm afraid I'll only be ordering the non-zip version going forward which has retained the old clean lines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sarbear from Love this bag! I love this bag and bought two black ones for my kids to use as overnight bags. I wish it had at least one interior pocket but it's still a great bag and looks nice. I'd love to buy more!! Can you please start making the black again in large and XL??

Rated 4 out of 5 by Oltimer from Two handed zipper Bag seems well made, durable heavy material and comfortable shoulder strap, one issue I have with the bag is the zipper closure. It is impossible to zip open or zip close with one hand, you must grab the side of the bag somewhere with the opposite hand you are using to operate the zipper,in order to straighten out the zipper enough to get it to move. There should be an extension tab on each end of the zipper, holding the tab will help to hold the zipper in line to improve operation in either direction.
