Rated 3 out of 5 by Zinnia123 from Torn Knees We have purchased several snow bibs from LL Bean over the past few years. They are warm, true to fit and all parts are made well, except for the reinforced knee. The lower seam of the knee where it meets the regular fabric rips EVERY YEAR. If the reinforced material extended below the knee by two more inches, this would not be an issue. For boys who spend every day (at school and home) playing in the snow and sledding, this product should be able to last one season of use. I have returned them in the past and have sewn them and patched them myself as items cannot be repaired. Disappointed that they did not last longer than 3 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jem1982 from Terrible quality My 6 year old has gone though 2 pair of these ski pants in 1 month. I’m Canadian and didn’t mind paying a little extra on exchange to get good quality ski pants...they are hard to find. Within 2 days of putting on each pair he has come home with tears in them. The thin material that most of the ski pants are made of, tears incredibly easy. The reinforced knees and butt are amazing and the material is very thick- LL BEAN- you’re ski pants should be made out of this material ALLLLLL OVER!! I typically rave about your products but not these ones. After having 2 replacements, I opted for the other, more expensive ski pants. We will see how this pair fairs. Very dissatisfied in the quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VirginiaMom43 from Great snow pants We have ordered these bibs for both of our children for the past 12 years. One year I thought I'd save a little by purchasing a less-expensive brand of bibs for my son, and I regretted that decision the minute he went out in the snow to play. (The other brand ripped almost immediately, and they were not waterproof. He was miserable!) Needless to say, I ordered a new pair of these right after he came inside. These bibs are very durable, warm and waterproof. They have plenty of room to grow and last several seasons. I have handed mine down to nephews and nieces and even the oldest pair is still being used by a second cousin 12 years later. If that's not quality, I'm not sure what is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by newmidwestshopper from Great durable snow bibs! We have been buying these for years now. They are usually in great shape at the end of the season and we are able to pass them down to our younger kids each year. They do run big, as with most LLBean stuff. Our 10 year old boy (about 70-80 lbs.) is wearing a size 8 and it is roomy on him. Our 8 year old girl (50lbs.) is in a 5/6. Our 13 year old (100lbs, and almost 5ft tall) is moving into the 12 this year. Love the adjustable straps. It has allowed us to have our girl wear her bib for 2 years. These bibs seem to be more durable than the ones from several years ago. Love the double layered knee. I prefer these to the the snow pants as they keep the snow out of the waist area. We had one pair of pants once and my son always came in with wet shirt/pants/underwear from snow getting in. Will buy these each season!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mantygirl from Holds up to Wisconsin Winters! I purchased the bibs in feldspar for our grandson because he outgrew his from last year. His mother (our daughter) is a first grade teacher in Wisconsin, where winters can be brutal. She sees how poorly other brands hold up for so many of her students, and has told me numerous times how great the LLBean bibs are. Our grandson loves them and told me they keep him warm and dry, even on days when he spends hours in the snow. The bibs are well made and the knees are reinforced, so they last a couple of winters if we buy them slightly large for the first year. These are a must for any child playing in the snow and cold.

Rated 1 out of 5 by N8ure from Wet knees My 6 year old daughter's pants get soaked in these after playing in the snow. They keep her dry everywhere except where those reinforced knees are. We have been buying LLBean snow pants for her since she was tiny. She has probably had 3 or 4 pairs of the Toddler Cold Buster Snow Bibs and I have never had this problem with any of them! Its so disappointing! These pants just aren't functional. Both my kids were out yesterday for the same amount of time in the same snow conditions and the toddler came in dry and the 6 year old came in soaked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WinterMomma from Winter Snow Pants LOVE that the butt is reinforced like the knees! First snow and my boys slide down the driveway on their BUTT! Several slides already logged this year and of the 2 pants we bought 1 has the stitching at the knee patch pulling apart. Was surprised by that. Boys say pants are warm, Mom appreciates the reinforced knees and butt. The pant keeper on the inside of the snow pant seems longer than other non-LL Bean snow pants, so it goes far into the boots. The side zipper at the bottom of the pant is also great. Overall an excellent pant & I'm confident the boys will outgrow the pants before they will need replacing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bhoney from Shoddy Construction My daughter asked me to buy snow gear for her 4 and 8-year-old for Christmas this year as they had just moved from Asheville to Portland, ME. After just a few weeks of use, both sets started to fall apart. They took them to the outlet and were told that this was "normal wear and tear". I beg to differ. I come from a farm family of 8 and we handed down snow pants from child to child. They lasted for years and we were an extremely active group. Both my Grandchildren in Portland are quite lean, so this is not a case of improper fit. Shame on you LLBean for not standing behind your product (or building a decent product to begin with!). Won't be buying from you again unless you rectify this situation!
