Rated 5 out of 5 by Purpleapple from Great Swim Skirt This skirt was terrific. The fit was great (ordered a 16). Material was lovely and the cut of it was enough to be modest but not get in the way of movement. Just what I was looking for (both form and functional). And I like the color too. Have used at the pool, at the beach and washed it with no issues (still looks great). I would definitely recommend it! The only thing is that typically I am in jeans/pants anywhere from curvy 12 to 16 so for those buying this skirt, just be aware. I have a couple other LL Bean pants and they are also in the 16 or L category. Sizes are so variable now that you have to be ready to go down or up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by lucero from I started to love this, BUT... I swim many laps in the pool. This swim top and bottom did not fade with the chlorine, BUT after several gentle washings, the elastic band around the waist got twisted up. It was a huge pain to untwist. I sewed stitches periodically around the waist band so this would not happen again, but I'm sure the chlorine will not be kind to the thread I used and I'm not sure how long my little fix will work. I am disappointed as it is a very cute swim bottom that fits well and is flattering, but definitely not worth the fight. I hope LLBean looks at this review and sees the problem because I really want to purchase another. FYI - I purchased the skirt bottom and top in black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PearlsMom from Just right This bottom fit me just right. The waistline was just below my waistline, not down at my hips which would have created muffintop. The length was perfect. Would be great if Bean would list lengths as part of the garment description, this runs 13-3/4" from top to bottom in size 14. I tried several bottoms from another company that starts with 'L" and their waistlines ran at the bikini bottom line, and they were either too short at 12" or too long at 14" skirt lengths. Hides that bulge where your thighs emerge from your bottoms - not my best asset at 60. Now I feel cute and confident that I won't make my grandkids go "Eww!" The top fit perfectly also but that's another review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dynamo from Don't Like Waistband I have many sets of LLBean swimwear. I've owned and worn the BeanSport regular bottom for many months. These skirted bottoms are of the same good quality and true-to-size fit. The fuchsia berry color is pretty. But I do not like the wide elastic waistband - it twists around inside the casing and is difficult to straighten so it will lay flat again. Then when I pull the bottoms on, the elastic waistband gets all twisted again. Annoying. Fortunately, I wear them with a tankini top so no one else knows that it looks funky. I wish LLBean would change this feature, then I would give them 5 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NashvilleMom97 from Not totally sold but need the bottoms I bought this bottom and a halter top for when I need a more modest suit around friends. I normally prefer a bikini on vacation. As other reviews mentioned, the large flat elastic rolls inside the casing at the waist. There should be vertical stitching to keep the elastic from rolling because I see myself having to deal with that. I like the length. My normal size was too small (pulled at hips) so I returned and sized up. We'll see. But I like the smooth fabric and the skirt isn't too long so that it looks frumpy. I'm optimistic it will meet my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by clotheshomedecorator from fabulous skirted bottom I was extremely please with this skirted bottom. I am usually a size 16 but have gained some eight, so I dutifully ordered a size 18. It makes my hips look so good and hides my upper leg bumps and lumps too! Order the size you are and you will be so pleased. Never thought I would wear a skirted bottom, but it is adorable. I usually don't write reviews, either, but this item is so great, I felt I owed to you to write about how great it makes me look, even at my size!

Rated 4 out of 5 by mhr123 from Recommended with Reservations I bought this in black to pair with the black/lapis swim jogger top, as an alternative to the shorts offered in that line. It was a good match, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I have an hourglass shape, and although the fit seemed correct (I'm usually a 10 or 12, and went with the 12 - any larger would have been too loose in the waist), the skirt stretched across my hips in an unflattering way. It made me look bottom-heavy, like I was trying to hide more flaws than I may actually have. To work for me, the skirt needs more of an a-line or flouncy shape. If you have a straighter build, this may be a great option for you. The material and quality looked great. I was disappointed that it wasn't going to work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2Busy2Shop from Great swimwear for older bodies Now in my late 70s, I've been reluctant to get in the pool for several years. This year my great grandchildren begged me to swim with them, so I looked for a swimsuit with maximum coverage. This absolutely filled the bill. Wide shoulder straps prevented any wardrobe malfunctions, even while holding a toddler in the water. The skirt was perfect, minimizing my pot-belly. I was able to have fun in the pool with no modesty worries.
