Men's Commando Sweater, Henley is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 481.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Commando Sweater,Henley I love the style of this sweater, however, it is very cheaply made. The feel of the sweater is more like cheap acrylic yarn than the "100% merino lambs' wool" they claim it is. It doesn't really fit right. Its itchy because of the cheap material, the sleeves are very long and are made to fold over at the cuff. The patches on the elbow really do not line up correctly because the extra long arms. Its more like a home made sweater someone knitted for you as they learn how to knit because of its strange sizing and awful cheap material. Not worth the price. Very disappointed and certainly not the quality that made L.L. Bean famous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More technical than you would think Great Price for such a huge slab of merino wool. Pros: Merino wool is a wonder fabric Anti microbial, non itch, non shrink, tough, wicking, and it retains 80% of its insular value when wet. I have owned this sweater for close to 2 years now and it has worn like iron (I machine wash cold and lay flat to dry, only when needed which is rare due to the anti microbial nature of wool). I have used this as both an around town sweater and as a mid layer while out in the woods it has preformed well. The fit layers well and works with many different jackets. Cons: Poor weight to warmth ratio; there are much lighter options out there. Wind cuts right through it; on windy days a shell is needed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from shrunk!! Very costly loss. Bought this deep green heather sweater for my husband for hunting. He loved it...although it was brown, not green...but a nice looking sweater. He had to wear something under it because it was very itchy. Fit him perfect. Til I washed it, as instructed but it still shrunk in the length and in the arms. He can't wear it anymore...only wore it a couple times for one hunting trip. Now I can't even get another one because it's sold out.I would consider dry cleaning the next one. I'm sad. It was a very expensive sweater to only get to wear a couple times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refined Uraban Tactical Elegance I've been looking for "this" sweater for a long time. The look...refined urban tactical elegance. The fit...I'm 5'10, 178 with athletic build and the small/regular was a perfect fit. Some in the reviews sized up and if you have a bit of a belly you my choose to do just that and/or opt for the tall, but if not sizing is true. The feel...super soft and quite warm. The only thing (LL Bean) is that I want a grey version and that isn't an option...wish list. If you want a tactical sweater that doesn't sacrifice functionality, style or quality in any way...add this gem to the cart...maybe even two! Enjoy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You feel like a commando For starters, this is a COLD WEATHER sweater. It's not just wool. It's thick. You will wear an undershirt, which will super-insulate the heat. If you're from the southwest(like me), you'll wonder why at about 55(f) this feels too warm. That takes some getting used to or just some colder temps. That being said, it's perfect for just about anything outdoors in < 50(f) temps. Super durable and insulating. This is really meant for working on a boat or in the snow. My only suggestion would be to make a cotton version for milder weather. I'd buy 3 more if you did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Surprise Wow, the first thing is, and it isn't in the description, this sweater is made of merino lambs wool (no itch). Outstanding and very sharp looking! I also have the sleeveless version that is merino as well so I was hoping this was the same. The Henley version allows for venting the heat when you warm up without having to remove the sweater until you get really warm. Also, wool keeps you warm even when it's wet, it is naturally water repellent because of the lanolin in the fibers, is anti-microbial also because of the lanolin and lastly, is fire resistant, unlike nylon and polyester. This sweater will last a very long time. Get yours today!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good sweater At 5'9" and 155 lbs with a 42 " chest and 32" waist I debated between the regular medium and the regular large. I went with the large and found it has plenty of room to add a layer or two. the sleeves are long and I need to roll a cuff but this works very well. It is plenty long in the waist which I like. I get cold easily when golfing. This sweater kept me very warm and comfortable on two cold windy days. I think it may do well in the middle of winter but time will tell. there was no restriction of movement and I was able to swing the clubs very well. the quality appears to be excellent and I am happy with the performance so far. Satisfied.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from More than disappointed I have worn LLBean Commando Sweaters over 30 years - but they are no longer the same. The sweater I just bought is of a inferior weave - its loose and fits very poorly. Traditionally, Commando Sweaters fit snugly, have tight waists and are form fitting - really handy in brush or when rock climbing. They were also made in the USA - but no longer. I noticed that the sweater was made in China. Will not buy one again - and I dont recommend this product to anyone - very disappinted.
