Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality Change I recently ordered three unshrinkable tees (two with a pocket and one without) to add to the two that I bought about two years ago. Like many other recent reviewers, I noticed a massive decline in quality. The older version was thicker, better material, and much softer. I loved them. The new ones feel cheap and thin, and I'm really disappointed. I thought the other reviews might be wrong so I ordered anyways, but alas, the reviews are accurate. I returned all 3. It's really sad to see LL Bean sacrificing on quality, and it's the first time I've experienced such a thing with this company, ever since my first purchase of Bean Boots years ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Strange Material - Too Heavy for a T Love LL Bean products generally, but the material on these T's is too thick and feels slimy and synthetic. Way to heavy for a hot climate or a warm day (which is kind of the point of a plain T, I thought). I went running and played tennis in these T's in northern WI on a 70 degree day and they turned into wet sponges and feel like spun plastic on your body. I ordered two and they are both going to Goodwill. Also, the neck line is not cut right in the front, feels like you are being choked by the collar. Avoid. Other Bean products I received in this order were highly satisfactory. Material on these Ts is inferior.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from does not breath This is probably a waste of time. It doesn't look like Bean takes any of this information and uses it to improve there products .I bought five or six in various colors. I had Bean Tee's in the past. These are not the same. These shirts are treated with a chemical that seals them airtight. I thought after a few washings this stuff would wear off, but it doesn't. Try wearing a plastic garbage bag for an entire day and you will experience the same level of comfort as the Bean Tee's. Gave all of mine to Good Will. I think I know where the guy went that tried to reinvent Coke, he now works for LLBean.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Retains heat This is the hottest cotton t-shirt I have ever worn (and I am a senior citizen so have owned plenty). The shirt doesn't breath and retains heat and sweat until you are very uncomfortable. They are treated with something to make them stain resistant; when out in a light rain, the shirt doesn't get wet - water just beads up on it. On a humid, hot day I cannot wear this shirt. I own 3 and all are the same. However, the fabric is soft, doesn't shrink and fits well. I am disappointed that I can't wear them more - they are great in 75 degrees and low humidity or indoors in an air conditioned room. Therefore, I cannot recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Use to be my favorite shirt I'm very disappointed with the drop in quality of these carefree shrinkfree shirts. I've been buying these for years and they have been my go to shirt. The recent order of these shirts shows that they quality has declined yet the price has not. The fabric is thinner than it use to be and doesn't feel like the quality they use to be. These shirts use to last for multiple years but just feeling the thinness of the fabric I can already tell that these shirts won't last more than a year. They have the feel of a cheap quality shirt I would buy at a major discount retailer. I'm very disappointed and I don't think I'll continue to purchase these shirts going forward.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE I thought this would be a good T shirt. Color was OK,not great, but it was comfortable and fit well. BUT, when I went walking it was like wearing a shower curtain liner. I sweat and it never penetrated the shirt at all. Because the shirt didn't breathe it left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and wet. I called the service center to see how many times I had to wash it before it would start to absorb sweat and start to breathe. They said to send it back because that's what allowed it to be wrinkle free. I don't know where everyone who loves this T shirt is wearing it, but don't wear it outside in the south during summer!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Body, Poor Neck I bought these to replace other older T's about a year to a year and half ago. Initially I was very pleased. I washed them as directed, cold, low dry. Body of the shirt is great, it has remained comfortable and mostly non-wrinkle. My complaint is the neck. It waffles, or as the Jordan ad for another brand called it, it bacons. Each and every neck, wrinkled/waffled & baconed within one to two months. T's bought at another retailer, while not as heavy.oz cotton, have worn much better, with no wrinkling of the neck and approximately the same age (one to two yrs.). I would hesitate to buy these again unless it was confirmed the neck problem had been resolved.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water proof I have used LL Bean clothing for over 50 years. Each item lasts almost forever, but when it wears out, I replace it. I just bought 4 new t-shirts to replace those I bought ten years ago. But the new ones are unacceptable, and I returned them. The company advertises that they are stain proof. I am sure they are. But that means they do not absorb moisture. I work hard in these shirts - cutting wood, exercising. I need a t-shirt that absorbs the moisture. These do not. All the sweat just drips down inside the shirt. I have washed them half a dozen times; the stain-repellant coating does not come off. If you want a dress t-shirt, these may work. If you want an undershirt, don't buy them
