Rated 4 out of 5 by reviewer1112 from Almost perfect... I have purchased many of these shirts and the quality is the best around. The fabric is so soft. However, the length is too short and the shirt does not stayed tucked in to pants or skirts. If the shirt is left untucked and I raise my arms and am not wearing sit-at-the-waist pants, I have to be careful not to expose my bare midriff. I'm not requesting a tunic style top, but another 1-2 inches in length would be more practical. The color selection this season does not pair well with my warm skin tone. LL Bean, when you come out with new colors each season, please choose a color palette that offers both warm and cool colors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Snailinaction from Too short Have to say I've been disappointed for awhile now with Bean's pullover tops, and this turtleneck is no exception. They are all too short in the body and are difficult to keep tucked in. Even if I don't want to tuck it in, the amount of overlap between the bottom of the shirt and the top of my pants is inadequate. I thought I'd give it one more shot and try one of these turtlenecks, but same problem, so I'm going to look elsewhere for pullover tops in the future. That said, the material is nice and comfortable, just wish the fit were. If you have a short torso, these may be fine. Any recommendation to a friend would be very conditional.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ohsweetwhatever from Nice fabric but boxy fit Given the rave reviews I had hope for these and ordered 3 in red, black and white. The fabric is is light and soft, very contemporary. The colors are beautiful, esp the red, which is more berry than orangey, hard to find in cheaper materials. Unfortunately the fit is boxy and inexplicable. The sleeves run about an inch short, but I do have long arms. The body is tent-like. If it were A-line that would be great, but it's too short for that, hitting right above the hip. I don't think ordering a size down would help, nor did a run through the wash. They would be ok under a sweater but I want to wear them with suits and slacks. Sadly, all three are going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rarebear from Fantasically comfy and soft. I bought one and loved it so I bought another four. These pima shirts are so soft and comfortable. I did but an ex large even though I take large in pants and the corduroy lined shirts. The turtleneck neck is loose and does not choke which is another reason I bought so many. I love these. I do wish LL Bean would have colors that matched, for instance, the corduroy shirts. For instance I would have loved a dark Navy Blue but their True Navy blue was light and more of a soft Royal...kind of ugly. No matter..I will still use this. I love LL Bean clothing. I am all set for the winter and looking forward to summer clothing. Thanks for great product!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by OregonlovesLLBean from Short Change I bought two of the turtle necks and one crew neck. Perfect in every way, color fit, except.... too short.... so that when I bent over it rode up my back and I found myself constantly pulling it down. I would recommend to a friend if she were shorter than me! I would advise buying a small size rather than petite if you are my size, even though the arms will probably be too long, but for comfort sake, a small would probably be better. Even adding just an inch to the petite size would make a big difference. I'm not expecting a tunic here, just a comfortable length. It's difficult enough being short, but being short-changed adds to the injustice!

Rated 3 out of 5 by georgiabyte from Recommended, but with reservations This turtleneck is gorgeous, and when I put it on I feel like a million bucks! The fabric is wonderful, surpassed only by the fantastic selection of vivid colors! HOWEVER, I do not, if I can help it, buy this turtleneck. The major drawback is that you do not offer cuffed sleeves. Why, oh why??? I do understand that you are going for a dressier look, but 1. Either offer it in TWO sleeve choices, cuffed or non, OR 2. Offer these wonderful colors in the Bean Turtleneck! When was the last time I could buy a good RED?? Only in this Pima turtleneck! But I hate the non-cuffed sleeves! LL Bean needs color education! PLEASE!

Rated 4 out of 5 by adhayes84 from Great then not so great I have purchased three of these pima cotton turtlenecks in Petite extra small over the last 18 months. The quality started out good, but when downhill. 1.) Heather charcoal was a true heathered dark gray. The material was soft and you could not see through it. 2.) The white was soft, but the material was not as durable as the heather charcoal 3.) The black was an absolute disappointment! The material was super thin! I could see straight through it! I really hope that L.L. Bean returns this turtleneck to the high quality, durable Pima Cotton that is not see-through or extremely thin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by vviolet from tight! I thought I would splurge and get the pima cotton turtleneck. I have three of the pima t-shirts (in size small) and love them. I was pretty disappointed with this turtleneck because I could barely pull it down over my regular-sized head. After I finally got my head through it, the neck part was squeezing my neck tightly. I know I wouldn't be able to get through the day with it grabbing me. The whole garment was too tight all over. I got a small, which is was I always get. I had no room to spare, and should it shrink with washing, it would be completely unwearable.
