Rated 3 out of 5 by 30yearLLBfan from old ones better If I did not know better I would give these five stars for fit, value, and appearance. However, I still have an old pair of the same pants made back when they were poly/cotton blend, with no starch treatment. The poly/cotton are more comfortable, fit just as well, and wear WAY better. I wear LLB chinos as part of a work uniform. The old ones are in the same rotation as six newer pair. The old ones still have no seam wear and no cuff wear. A couple pair of the newer starched cotton ones are being replaced today.. More of the same new style, so I must think they are fair value. The newer ones did last a couple years anyway. The new ones just cannot compare to the old ones, except they do hold a crease better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cheewee from Need A Standard Please! I purchased two Double L Chinos, Classic Fit Pleated pants and returned both today. In the past, I purchased the Dress Chinos, Classic Fit Pleated pants and hubby was pleased. I do realize the Double L Chinos are cheaper, but the fit is so different. My husband said the waist cut in at a strange angle and the legs were so full, not even close to the ones purchased before. I measured the legs on both pair of pants for the length, and found that every leg was a different length. I did not expect the same quality as the more expensive pants, but come on, could you please have a standard to shoot for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by WebsterTwpBill from Quality downgrade The quality of these pants has declined precipitously. Compared to the same pants I bought a year to two ago, the fabric has become flimsy and the "permanent" crease has become more of an aspiration than a reality. After one washing, the crease is vague at best. My older copies of the exact same pants, worn and washed many times, look newer and crisper. Price competition, I know, but if this is L.L. Bean nowadays, I may as well buy at the big-box discount-brand store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 13LLBean13 from Chinos Are Great Purchased 2 pair of Wrinkle-Free Chinos for my brother. He needed some nice dress pants and these are perfect. These came out of the package almost ready to wear, so the wrinkle free label is exactly correct. Material is soft but not shiny, and the pockets are nice and deep making it easy to store a handkerchief, etc. without bulging the pants. He uses an LLBean belt with them and the top doesn't roll at all. I think the workmanship in them will allow him to wear them for many years. A great pair of slacks that are comfortable and durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by judyskies from Double L Chinos Both my sons have families of their own. I usually strike out when shopping for them, so in recent years have deferred to their wives' choices. However, I knew that my younger son was in desperate need of khakis and had a pair in the stone shade delivered to his house, along with LL Bean back packs I'd ordered for the kids. He was very pleased with the fit and softness of the fabric, and delighted that they required no ironing! I immediately ordered two pair for the older son, which fit perfectly because LL Bean has such a good choice of waist sizes and inseams. Both sons wear khakis to work, so I've already ordered extras in different shades for Christmas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wifeofchef from NO BLACK w/ Pleats! Are you kiddin' me? I buy these for my chef husband because they are comfortable, look great, and can handle all the stuff that splatters on him. NOW, I need to restock and NO BLACK! They exist in Plain Front but not good for chef work. Please, please, please bring back Black Pleated front Chinos. You're making me look elsewhere and that doesn't make me happy. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by robF from Superior Pant Over the years I have ordered chinos from just about every clothing supplier known, searching for the elusive 'perfect pant'. Finally, I think I've found it. L.L.Beans Double L Classic Fit Chino is truly an amazing product. The material is nothing short of beefy; I was genuinely surprised at how thick and dense, yet soft and comfortable it really is. The sizing was perfect, and the fit is the best I've found. It's a true classic fit; fitted and comfortable. They look great, they feel great, and if they're anything like Beans's pants I've had in the past, they hold up like nails. These pants are truly excellent; if you don't believe me, try them. You'll be hooked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shooter313 from Good Pants Not the same as the ones I bought last year, but still good pants. They seem to run a little longer in the inseem, but I have not worn them enough to know if they shrink up some like the last batch did. I dont expect to get more than 8 months or so out of them, I usually buy 5 pair at a time and wear one each day to work. 8 months is about the most I get out of them wearing each pair once per week before they start to fray at the pockets and the ends of the pant legs. They could be tougher material, but I buy them for their comfort. If the material was heavier they would not be as comfortable in my opinion anyway. I give them 4 stars out of 5.
