    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic cabled cardigan This is a great sweater for cool summer days and nights near the ocean. I love the timeless design, the cabling, and the ribbed collar that you can zip up for warmth. I would have given five stars except that it seems to run just a bit small. I’m keeping it since it’s cotton I expect that it will stretch over time.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Changed the gauge of the yarn from previous year Love the color, but they changed the weight of the cotton yarn from last year. So, it’s bulkier, takes a lot longer to dry and contributes to a chunkier look. But it’s still in the realm of a perfect Maine summer weight sweater. So, not a good choice if you’re around the water, either a potential to fall into a body of water, or get drenched in a down pour, other wise it’s fine.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from So tired of not pre-shrunk; threads pulling out I LOVE the "darkest purple" color, and have always enjoyed my Double LL cable knits, so thought I'd splurge and get myself one. I don't mind that it's heavier than previously (I'm always cold, so why not?), and I had to order a size up. I do wish they had retained the pockets. But I have two big complaints: A) threads pulling out at shoulder/neck seam on first washing—in a front load washer, in a sweater bag. If they still had my size, I’d exchange it as defective. But they don’t. So I’ll have to try to pull them through and tuck them back under, and hope they hold. I think most of them are bound down well enough they might, but one’s going to unravel a vertical line in the neck eventually, if I don’t sew it down. I’m not thrilled to have to spend time on a new purchase. B) I am so tired of clothing that isn’t pre-shrunk!! I get it that adds an expense. OK—I’ll pay more. We used to have the technology, why don’t we any longer? Who wants a wardrobe in which the majority of the pieces have to be individually handled?? What good is clothing that “stands up to the elements,” stands up to wear and tear, but can’t stand up to my washer and dryer? It makes trying to buy the right size a total guessing game, and makes having family laundry impossible—because if I put it in the hamper, someone else will through it in the dryer. Come on Bean. Please give us the the sturdy clothing you are known for!

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why change a good thing?! This is the 3rd one of these sweaters I ordered. The first two are perfect. The most recent one is a different fit, different fabric and has NO POCKETS!!! The fabric has no give. Sleeves are too tight. Collar doesn't stay up.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice sweater It is a nice sweater, and I was in a hurry to receive one, since they are on a never ending (it seems) backorder. I am not as happy with it as I am with the one that my D-I-L purchased a few years back, and, it is definitely lighter than the one I already have but will do for the office. It also sheds fuzzies, but hope that will stop once washed.
