Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hated the side pockets The color and corduroy fabric were lovely. I was so excited when corduroy big shirt came back. I love my old versions of this shirt, wear them all the time. Sadly the side pockets on this version were a deal breaker. The lining is awful. The stiff fabric flaps freely from the inside of the shirt, it’s wrinkly and can be noticed bunched up under the shirt. If you wear the shirt open the loose pocket lining is very noticeable, it is not a good look. Please make a decent side pocket or no side pocket at all. So disappointed. Dump this badly designed pockets and I will gladly try again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the Same I have two older, original style corduroy shirts that I still wear and just love . . . they are my favorites, soft and casual, in great colors! They are perfect for our cool Arizona desert winters. I was thrilled to see them offered again and just received mine. What a disappointment! The pockets at side seams are a bit large and a light gray fabric on the inside of my berry shirt. I would refer no pockets, as in the original style. So I'm returning the shirt and hoping that you will offer the old style shirt once again . . . why reinvent the wheel? The original shirt was wildly popular for years . . . how about a do-over with more beautiful colors please?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed It is beyond me why LL Bean would take a good product and remake it into something inferior. I have several of the original design. The side pockets on this would have been OK, if they had been well done. They should have been a nuetral color and much smaller to fit well in this garmet. All of the extra bulk the pockets create just add bulk to your hip area. I am also disappointed to see a company that creates an All-American image, has manufacturing done in Shri Lanka. The new version is just poor craftsmanship and oversight by LL Bean's quality control. I will keep it because I like the saddle color, but would not buy another one with this design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Disappointed I have purchased these shirts for years, every color. Last year I needed to update some of the colors and ordered one. It came with terrible pockets, hardly sewn in on the side. These pockets made the shirt bulky on the side and not sit nicely when worn. I returned the shirt and wrote a review about. Why did LL Bean change a good item? I was hoping this year I could order more shirts but no change they still have the pockets. It is not only me writing about this, I have seen countless reviews about the pockets are no good. Please please take the pockets away and bring back the shirt without them as we all loved.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have been wearing LLBeans Big Shirt forever, both lined and unlined. and loving every color. I ordered a new Big Shirt in Unlined Sea Salt ( soft white ), and I am so disappointed with the changes that have been made. The fit is tighter, so not as roomy and comfortable. And the pockets in this lovely white shirt are deep blue, and huge. The blue pockets look bad when wearing the shirt open. And when wearing it buttoned up, the deep shows through the Sea Salt. I am returning this item, and am truly sad. Please LLBean, bring back the beloved original Big Shirt! It was a LLBean favorite for a reason.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seriously Disappointed I was so thrilled to find these shirts available again this year after several years without them (Like many women, I seemed to buy a new color each year.) but what a disappointment this pink one is. The color is not even a "dusty" pink. It just looks totally worn-out, and not in a cool, hip way. The new addition of the poorly attached pockets (in a blue color!) only adds weight to the hips, and they're badly attached. But worst of all is the length. This shirt is short! Yes, I know the model is wearing it, but I though to myself, "She's taller than I am, and anyway, I know how these shirts fit." Wrong. I'm seriously disappointed and will be returning this shirt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed! I expected to love this shirt as much as the 4 older ones that I have but, unfortunately, I don't. I was excited when they brought this shirt back, but this one is not the same as the previous version. I have to agree with other reviews that the pockets are terrible. They give a bulky appearance to the shirt and are not necessary. I originally ordered two shirts in the same size as my previous shirts but ended up returning them for the next size up and still am not totally satisfied with the fit/look even after washing it. I'll keep this one for wearing around the house, but I did cancel the second one which was on backorder. PLEASE BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS VERSION FOR NEXT YEAR!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dear LL Bean, please quit "improving" my favorites I treated myself to a new corduroy big shirt after finally tossing the one I've had for years. Loved the color, put it on - and discovered that the "improved" design now includes pockets at EXACTLY the place I need no extra padding - my hips. Why, Bean? Why do you redesign what's worked? Who actually needs pockets in their shirt? It's not a jacket. Don't even get me started on the princess seam you introduced in your (formerly perfect) barn coat, making it fitted and thus less useful for actual work. By all means bring aboard new products, but maybe give more consideration to redesigning classics that nobody's complained about.
