    Product Details

We've taken windproof fleece jackets to a new level of comfort with Airshield technology, delivering exceptional performance without the stiffness of other windproof fleece. In fact, this is our softest, most breathable windproof fleece ever.
    Size & Fit
    • Slightly Fitted.
    • Best with lightweight layer.
    • Falls at hip.
    Why We Love It
Cozy, warm and versatile, a fleece jacket is the quintessential outdoor layer – and now we made it even better. Unlike ordinary fleece (that allows wind to easily pass through) or windproof fleece (that blocks gusts but feels stiff and clammy), our new fleece features exclusive Airshield technology that's exceptionally soft and breathable, taking you – and windproof fleece jackets – to a new level of comfort.
    Fabric & Care
    • 100% recycled polyester fleece, brushed for softness.
    • Grid textured exterior on main body; velour textured interior and exterior side panels.
    • Machine wash and dry.
    Additional Features
    • Features our exclusive Airshield windproof technology for greater breathability and a softer feel.
    • New air-permeable membrane blocks the wind better than conventional fleece.
    • Exceptional breathability offers superior comfort in a wide range of temperatures and activities.
    • Full-length wind flap, drawcord hem and lycra-bound cuffs seal out cold drafts.
    • Two zippered hand pockets and one zippered chest pocket.
    • Fleece zipper garage and velour fleece on collar for extra warmth.
    • Zipper pulls have pull cords for easy gripping, even when wearing gloves.
Women's Mountain Classic Windproof Fleece Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 239.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weird Proportions It's too small in some areas and too large in others. The upper arms are too constricting to put layers under it, so in that respect it doesn't function real well as an outer layer. The body is too long and the sleeves are too long to use it as a mid layer so it kind of misses the mark that previous windstopper fleece achieved so well. I wish they would hang on to good old designs or test their new products on older people with a lot of LLBean stuff like me. Though I don't usually wear petites, I'm going to send it back and try a petite even though the upper sleeve circumference will probably be too small on that also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stiff and bulky, but gorgeous Boy, I wanted to keep this. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, it's kind of stiff and bulky due to the plastic-like layer inside it that makes it windproof. I will stick with my usual strategy of a soft and cozy fleece with a windbreaker. Also, the arms were very slim and the bottom was pretty slim. With an hour glass figure, I found it tight on my hips. My arms are slender and it looked sensational...but I am not going to just stand in front of a camera in it, wearing only a tank under it. I would hike or be active in it, and would probably want it over a long sleeved fall top or sweater. So I sadly will send it back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but could be better The material of this windproof fleece jacket does block the wind. However, the jacket overall has several gaps where the wind gets in. 1. Zipper. There is a small wind baffle behind the zipper, but it could be bigger. 2. Sleeves. If the sleeves had knit cuffs, it would keep the wind from going up your arms. 3. Neck. The stand-up neck is stiff and loose-fitting, so the wind whistles right down there. Could use an inner collar. I have to wear a turtleneck under the jacket to keep the wind off my neck, or a scarf. Just FYI, the jacket material is not stretchy at all, if that makes a difference to you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from wish you had kept the old windproof fleece jacket Not sure why you changed how things are designed as far as sizing goes. The shoulders are way too tight and the sleeves way too short but the rest fits fine. Even with just a t-shirt on I was extremely constricted in the shoulder/arm areas. Never had this problem with the older style jackets I have bought from LLBean over the years (more than a few I should add) including a windproof fleece jacket that is probably at least 15 years old by now. It seems you have made the shoulder areas in a lot of your clothes just too small. Yes I will be returning this jacket. I may go the outlet store and see if I can try on a men's version as I really need a windproof layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, Love, Love I have waited forever for this jacket...I have an older version (I am guessing over 20 years old) that I still wear. The only serious wear on my old jacket is that the zipper pull ended up breaking and the pockets have small holes. Unbelievable to me that even the elbows have NOT worn through. I was so excited for this jacket and I feel like it's going to be a big hit. It's super comfortable...a little more fitted and feminine than my old style. In addition, I like the windproof because it's super warm which is important when living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It already feels like an old friend. If you're on the fence...go for it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Comfortable, Stylish Really excited about this jacket -- it's perfect for crisp spring (or fall) days that require an extra layer. The fabric is windproof and keeps you warm, but moves well. I'm very pleased with the sizing, too. The torso and arms run slightly longer than other jackets in this style, which I really like. I wear this for golf and it moves well enough to allow a full swing without any tugging or bunching. Pockets and zipper details are sharp, and the waffle-weave pattern is eye-catching. Exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased. Overall, would very much recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fall/spring jacket! I bought this for its wind protection which is super. I'm a walker and a hiker, so I'm out in all weather and this really blocks the wind without being heavy or thick. I have so many fleece jackets but they are useless in wind. I also like the slightly longer length for good coverage. I don't know why someone complained about that! The pockets are great! I bought a medium even though my new L.L. Bean winter jacket is a small, but this one runs a little small, or the winter jacket runs a little big. I do wish sizes could be more consistent. I actually love the crimson color which was on sale; it's classy and kind of neutral and soft, not loud.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The fit depends on your build It has become a chronic LL Bean style problem that those of us who have hips and who are on the short-waisted side have problems fitting into LL Bean garments because of their cut. They are cut for long people with relatively narrow hips. Even petites (I'm 5'1") have waists that hit too low. In other brands, I usually take a small, sometimes a medium if I want more chest room. I bought this jacket in a medium and it's tight around the hips. I fear that if I get a large, the shoulders will be spaced too wide and the arms will be too long. Just another style fail for those of us who aren't built like the LL Bean model. It would be REALLY good if LL Bean offered some garments that are cut for the rest of us!
