Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Coat I have worn this coat a few times now, in various temperatures of cold and also various winds. It has kept me warm and protected from wind on every occasion. It is incredibly light and comfortable. The hood fits over my cap and keeps out the wind too. All in all this seems an excellent and quality product. I am broad through the shoulders and chest but it still fits me. I think the close fit helps with warmth. I am most happy with my purchase and plan to wear this jacket in the Wisconsin winters for a long time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs a few modifications This jacket is very similar to an Arcteryx Atom Lt parka. It’s well made, cozy and very warm for it’s weight. Unlike the Arcteryx, it has insulated side panels, making it a bit warmer. That said, the wrist cuffs are very loose and slide down over your hands. Cuffs need improvement! The hood needs improvement as well. It needs some basic adjustability. Otherwise, it just falls over your eyes and there isn’t any way to adjust the face opening. Overall, I like it. But please improve the wrists and hood! With those changes, I would give it 5 stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid lightweight warmth for winter I bought this to replace a worn Primaloft hooded jacket from another brand. I Keep it in my pack on winter hikes in New Hampshire to put on as an insulating layer when I stop. I also wear it alone as a winter jacket when I go out and run errands. It works well down to about 10 degrees if just standing/sitting and even colder if moving with layers. I am 5’11” tall and weigh 180 with a 42” chest and find it runs slightly large, which helps when layering, A recommendation I have to improve warmth is to add draw cord to be able to cinch the hood tighter. Overall a great jacket and good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the price *TLDR; amazing jacket, if your thic buy a size up* Let’s start with the fit, because not enough people include this info.*** I’m skinny thic, got that veteran beer bod going. Without my beer belly, about 30 pounds less weight on me, a medium would be perfect. But as is, a large works well, with a looser fit up top and a tighter fit around the stomach and waist.***This jacket is designed as performance wear and thus better suited for fit people. It tapers at the waist but is more roomy up top. For those of us who prefer good food and clogged arteries you’ll likely need a size up.***If you carry tools, phones, or polymer/steel protective devices in your waist band you will also want a size up, 2 sizes if your thic. (I did not take my own advice here)***Next up construction:**This jacket is super light, disproportionately warm, super comfy. To achieve this however it’s not the sturdiest jacket.**If you want sturdy get their canvas jacket.**If you want a hoody from 2077, this is for you.***There’s only a few improvements that could be made.**double zipper (why did they not add this?!)**less sloppy chest pocket (phone flops around)**a little less taper at the waist (or I could loose weight)***That’s it***Oh and some other stuff I noticed cause I’m a weirdo.***doesn't hold cologne sent’s well (haven’t tried wood smoke yet)**water resistance lasts only a few washes**stuffing it into its own pocket is bulkier then just folding it**dries super quick and keeps you warm when wet**stuff in pockets makes the front sag and look frumpy**makes an excellent pillow***This jacket is great. I literally get excited when I put it on cause it’s so comfy. Yeah it’s pricy for us poors and you’ll probably tear it on a tree branch if your not careful. But if you wait for a sale like I did, totally worth it.***Sometimes I wear it around the house to save money on electric; true story.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Quality I wore the jacket for about two weeks and the breast pocket zipper seams were starting to come undone. I feel kinda frustrated because L.L. Bean is a good company with good products but this product would probably not last a few years of daily wear. I recommend getting a tougher jacket than this one if you are going to wear it daily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket ever I got this jacket for my husband’s birthday. He says this jacket is lightweight, warm and water proof. The fit is not bulky. What’s not to love! It’s his favorite jacket ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performed as advertised! Our search for a lightweight coat, easy to pack for our flight, yet warm enough to survive a late season cold snap, was successful with this coat! We ordered the lightweight PrimaLoft Packaway Jacket for me, and the same style in the long coat for my wife. They performed better than expected. Thank you, L.L. Bean, for easy ordering, fair pricing, free shipping, and excellent products!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from fit is too close I waited for months and saved my Bean bucks for when this jacket would go on sale. I was so happy to find a smooth exterior (not quilted), Primaloft, hooded, stretch jacket with multiple useful pockets. I am very disappointed to report that my usual Bean medium size in this jacket fits just too close for layering. Not only is it too tight across the shoulders, but even the sleeves fit too close. I actually could wear a fleece or vest underneath, but then I feel like a stuffed sausage. Complete contrast in fit to my other Bean Primaloft jacket from 3 (?) years ago, with the square quilting -- lots of room to layer without feeling restricted. This stretch jacket fits wonderfully if I only wear a t shirt underneath, but when would I do that? I really want this for the bitter windy or drizzly days when I likely need to wear a couple of layers underneath. Sadly I had to send it back and I'm afraid to try the Large size because I'm sure the sleeves will be too long. By the way, I also got the non-hooded version and it too fits too close and has to go back. Additional pocket inside is great; exterior chest pocket will fit a large phone.
