Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but color is off I'm a woman but I purchased this hoodie because I appreciate the longer sleeves and longer length of Bean's men's shirts. I also bought it because I loved the color (MacBeth Old Colours) shown on the website. But it turns out that the blue displayed in the photo is a much darker blue. I actually thought I'd been sent the wrong color shirt but am disappointed that it turns out that I didn't. Aside from the color, I love the shirt. It's perfect over a shirt on a cool day and the hood is a nice bonus. I have a difficult time with buttons because of a stroke so my favorite part of the hoodie is that it has snaps.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from the shirt jacket i’ve been looking for i love this jacket. i have several flannel shirt jackets and i like this the best. it’s well made, of course, and the flannel is substantial without being too thick, and of course it’s super soft and wicking. i like that it’s unlined so i can wear it on cool alpine summer evenings. the snap buttons are great too, providing secure closure and easy to close and open. the pockets are roomy and secure and fall at the right height. the plaid was a nice shade of blue—not too bright and not too masculine and would look good on men or women. i usually buy a men’s medium and it’s true to size. it’s my new favorite jacket of any type. highly recommend!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for autumn and mild winter days I'm very happy with this product. I like the styling, the side pockets, the snaps and the feel of the flannel. I use it more like a jacket than a shirt though and only wear it outdoors. It's heavy enough for a nippy day but not so heavy that you overheat walking or working. For me, however, it is too heavy to wear indoors as a "shirt". As for the sizing, it's not really "fitted" but also not big and blousey like some Bean shirt can be. I have a stocky broad build, with very wide shoulders and find the fit very comfortable with room for another shirt underneath. Although I wish there was one thing I wish LL Bean would fix -- please stop using the word SCOTCH and properly call it either SCOTTISH Plaid or SCOTS Plaid.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Comfortable This shirt is incredibly soft flannel, both inside and outside. It is thick but not heavy. And it is warm. Living where the temp does not get above 0 for a week at a time, this was important. It is comfortable to wear inside like a sweater, and very warm as a layer when outside. I am very, very impressed. And I should add it did not shrink or pill up after washing.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite shirt I received this shirt as a Christmas present and I probably wore it, on average, every other day this winter. It's comfortable like a well-worn sweatshirt but can be dressed up just enough to wear to the office. I love that I can wear this shirt indoors and step outside to do chores. It's a great layering garment. I tried to order the shirt in another color since I liked it so much, but alas, 'twas so popular that it could not be had. I usually wear a medium (5'9, 185 lbs), but seeing as this is an over shirt, my wife ordered a Large and it's very comfortable and not overly roomy. It's described as "slightly fitted" and I would say that a Large would be too large on me were it not for that. That said, I think the next one I order will be a Medium as a less roomy option.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slightly fitted? Maybe for hippopotami! Great fabric, super styling and features but it's fitted for quite a large man. I'm a 6', 180 pound male with relatively broad shoulders and trim waist. Size Large-regular is cut disappointingly full, feel like I'm wearing a flowing blanket or something. I'm pretty sure a size medium would be way too tight for me in the shoulders, chest and arms. Would be great if you'd offer this in a cut that fits more closely for athletic builds or even for a normal dad-bod. Love it otherwise (and wear it anyway) but I'm really bummed about the giant beer belly cut.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product! I am a student ambassador for Ohio State. With this program, I chose to purchase this shirt. The shirt fits true to size and is so comfortable. The snap buttons on the shirt are a fun, interesting touch to the shirt. I even love how the buttons say LLBean on them! I wear this shirt all the time. Just hanging out, going to the store, or even participating in many outdoor fall activities! I plan to purchase this again in different colors! I HIGHLY recommend this!

Excellent quality, durable materials, great fit, comfortable, cozy, comfy. Will but at least one more soon and donate a current item or three to make room in the closet. My step son has one (Blackwatch) and loves it.
